I have locs and prefer to do my detox and deep conditioning at home (it’s cheaper than the salon) so I bought this steamer for the deep conditioning. I’m sitting here with this cap on now and I can feel the heat. It takes maybe 5 minutes to heat up but it does works just fine. Easy to use, light weight, fits well on my head and cute design.

I was worried that this conditioning cap would not get hot enough but it did a wonderful job with my deep conditioner. My only complaint is that I wish it were bigger. I have long thick locs and it was hard for me to fit all may hair inside.

Compact and portable.

I absolutely have never spent my money on something more valuable than this, on Amazon. My heating cap arrived today and I immediately put it to use. My 3b/3c Low porosity hair needed heat for deep conditioning. Upon research I uncovered, I needed to add heat. I tried it today and my hair was silky smooth. I love how fast it started heating and it does have a setting that minimizes burning but lowering the heat temporarily until it cools off. I used it for 30 minutes and never felt burning. It works well. Fits my big head, lol and it's only $20. Again money well spent, I can't wait to continue using it. It's very lightweight, you will barely feel it on your head.

At first I thought this product was great, heats up super fast. However, when I put it on high heat - it will get really hot (a good hot) and then within 5-6 minutes it feels like it turns off? Its really frustrating because I'd like to steam my hair for at least 10-15 minutes. If I switch it to Low it will start to heat up again and be at a lower heat.

Just used it today for the first time and it was great. I think it automatically cools down after a certain amount of time, so it doesn't burn your head. So, I shut it off and switched it back on and it was fine. Then I think the automatic timer shut off again, but I was done. I sat under it for about an hour in total. It really is an improvement over just wearing a plastic bag over my head. I did a hot castor oil treatment today and it really penetrated my strands and scalp. I've been suffering from fairy knots for abut a year. I got a trim before covid and got rid of all the knotted strands, but they started coming back and I leave my hair braided. The hot oil treatment was great and I didn't have any knots when I rinsed my hair out, which is really great since I've never had them before.I'm hoping the hot oil treatments will address the slow growing hair at the crown of my head. About a year and a half ago it stopped growing. I think it may be due to two head injuries I suffered. So, we will see. I noticed I lost quite a bit of feeling in the crown area of my scalp and after the hot oil treatment it actually has more feeling. (Scalp trauma can cause scar tissue to develop hindering hair growth and hot castor oil treatments is a natural remedy for getting rid of scar tissue). So fingers crossed the caster oil works and this heating cap continues to work.I used a plastic cap on my head and then put the heating cap on because I don't want the oil and conditioner to get all over the heating cap. I'd rather through the bag away instead of having the clean the heating cap.Overall, it fit my head great, it's very comfortable to wear while I worked on my laptop at the kitchen table. I have an extension cord right by my laptop so the short cord wasn't a hassle. Overall, I would buy this cap again.
