Looks amazing but with no way to repair it?
Looks and feels amazing but with no way to repair it how long will it last? The whole driver rotates around the handle on just a metal stainless steel ball joint inside a aluminum handle. Over time the harder ball will wear out the softer aluminum handle and the red handle will fall out. There is no way to repair or service it. Too expensive to take the risk. And if dirt or debris gets inside the shaft there is also no way to clean. Sorry too fragile for the price.Edit 2/9/23 The manufacture provided this feedback and I will try to re evaluate the tool and update the review after a little more useage. Unfortunately I returned it already.“As our engineers have decades of experience in designing and manufacturing bicycle parts and accessaries for many global brands, the issues you pointed out have been thought about and taken care of. The aluminum we used on the Lollipop is on par with the premium aluminum used in high end bicycle parts, and its surface has gone through a special hardening process. As a result, your worries about the ball joint wearing out of the aluminum handle will not happen even after heavy usages in a long period of time. With regard to the serviceability, it is our intention to design the Lollipop as un-seviceable by customers to ensure the rigidity. We have great confidence in Lollipop’s versatility and durability and offer 3 year of warranty.”Update 3/4/2023I was wanting to give the aluminum Lollipop screwdriver another try but I was very reluctant to spend so much money to try again, even with the manufacturer explanation and only a 3 year warranty. I prefer to buy tools that have lifetime warranty and will last more then A lifetime. So I purchased the Stainless version even with the increased price. After using the stainless version for a week, it is every bit as amazing as the aluminum version and has a real nice heft too it. Aprox twice as heavy as the aluminum bit driver. If it was a Maglite you might say it is “A work of Art that Works™️“It is beautiful to look at and use at the same time. I kinda regret not buying the aluminum version to test side by side but just can’t see spending that much money on something for heavy useage. Maybe for EDC or light useage in a bicycle kit bag the aluminum version would be great as it is light enough to carry everyday. But I am super Satisfied with the Stainless version as well.Update 4/24/2023I have decided that this is great for a screw or two, but anything more, a ratcheting stubby is much more useful and easier to manage. Unfortunately it has moved from my EDC to a shelf in the kitchen, ready for when a quick fix is needed. Beautiful to look on the shelf and occasionally use, but for larger jobs with many screws I prefer my Snap on ratcheting screwdriver.Update 10/26/2023I should of left it on the shelf but I started to feel guilty about it becoming such a expensive paper weight. So next day I put it in my cargo pants pocket but then forgot it was there when I emptied my pockets for the laundry. Found it in the bottom of the washing machine soaked. Now how can you dry it if it can’t be disassembled ? Ended up just hanging it upside down but what it really needs is a way to get it apart in order to clean dry and lube so you can be sure there is no sand dirt or pocket lint building up inside. Keep it out of your pockets and maybe it will last longer.Update 12/21/23Went to use it again today and gave it a quick spin and the top spun right off. How?The top is supposed to be a free spinning screwdriver! How can you use a screwdriver if the top unscrews while using it?Update 12/22/2023I am updating this to max stars because the manufacturer replied immediately to my concern and sent out a replacement and requested the damaged item returned for evaluation. The customer service after the sale has been outstanding and they really stand behind their products. Will the next one have the same issues? I will update if it does. Not sure whether debris got inside the shaft or the trip through the washing machine caused the shaft to bind?????Update 2/22/24After receiving the replacement stainless driver and experiencing the great customer service I decided to also re-order the other aluminum version driver so can have one at home at one EDC for work. The stainless version was getting a little heavy wearing in a old leatherman pouch on the belt. The aluminum version is about half the weight. So far they both are working well.

The outcome of a precision driver and ratching driver mating
In size and functionality this is a precision driver with a ¼" bit (instead of some precision drivers have 4mm). Pop open the "lollipop" though, and you can torque a fastener closed (or open) more powerfully than a full size screwdriver, about as powerfully as a mini-ratchet.This driver doesn't have ratcheting functionality, but ratcheting functionality really only works the last turn of a fastener when there is enough friction to engage the ratchets. Otherwise you need one hand on the barrel on the back turn to engage the ratchet teeth, and you don't always have 2 hands to drive a fastener. On this driver you can just put your palm up against the "lollipop" and spin the shaft frictionless-ly to drive the fastener down all the way, and then you only really need to torque the last ½ - 1 turn with the extended lollipop, where if it had a ratchet that would be super slick but that last bit is easy enough to do without the ratchet. This isnt a driver to drive long screws into material (e.g - wood screws, but who does that manually anyway?) - its for machine screws or small bolts with smooth threads, even if they need to be torqued a decent amount. Its perfect for 8020, electrical, etc.Honestly - its expensive as hell, but top quality and amazingly satisfying to use. Comes with a different bit than I have pictured.
