Franklin Sensors ProSensor T6 Stud Finder with 6-Sensors, Wood & Metal Stud Detector/Wall Scanner

This is the best stud finding tool I've ever used. I used to struggle to find studs for picture hanging in apartment walls with a simple stud finding magnet, but it was always a guess. Not with this too: works perfectly every time.

I ordered this stud finder as a stocking stuffer for me this year. I chose it because it looked more useful than some of the other products on the market. It is very easy to use, accurate, and specific enough that I can tell where the middle of a stud is when I am drilling holes. This model is really nice because it has more than just 3 lights - it has about 7, in fact. This means you can really get a really good sense for where the edges of a stud are quite easily, and also see when you are dealing with a post or double stud. This product is ideal for the home repair person who needs to do basic installation of things like shelves - ie. where you need to know where a stud is, and aren't concerned about finding wiring (there are other products by the same manufacturer that do that). I've put up a set of shelves, a fold out mirror, and a wall-mounted laundry rack using this stud finder, so far - all items that you really do NOT want to just use drywall to anchor. In each case, the stud finder has done its job perfectly.

It doesn't need calibration and is so simple to use compared to other stud sensors. It can even find furring channels between plasterboard and concrete!

We have a mix of drywall and 100 year old plaster. It works shockingly well on both. I wish I had purchased this ages ago.
