I'm inclined to say yes. I cut patches out of the 3M Clear Bra Paint Protection Film roll for the spots where my Yakima landing pads make contact with my car paint.

The adhesive is very tacky so it would definitely stick but how long it stays on would depend on the surface finish of the wood. It would stick much better to a sanded smooth and finished wood than it would to a rough sanded board. Surface prep is key to getting anything to stick to something else.

the answer is yes if you are doing a flat or slightly curved surface, If your doing the area behind the handle, there are special die cut pcs. for that purpose.
