How do you open the pump???? (new bottle)

I had the same issue, I don’t know why they have to keep changing things. The old pump was easier to open. My son figured it out by tightening the bottom base really tight (turning to the right)… after that while you’re holding the base down, turn the upper part (the pump mechanism) counterclockwise to the left a few times and it should pop open. I tried this many times but somehow it didn’t work for me. I guess he had a magical touch lol!
