They wear out
I’ve owned over half a dozen of these over the years since my 2nd gen iPad pro 12.9 came on the market, and while they work as described, that comes with a caveat: they wear out.Once they wear out, they stop being impact resistant, and the water resistance goes soon after the impact resistance does. They almost always wear out in exactly the same way too - the soft rubber-like bezel edge of the case loses its adhesive grip on the harder plastic case edge and peels off. They’re still water resistant at that point, but no linger impact resistant - the next hard drop will crack the case, and then they’re not water resistant at all anymore. There’s also a flaw in the design of the charge port door: there’s a blue silicone seal in there about the size of a thumb nail, and it’s not glued in place, it has a pair of tabs that just slot into the sides of the door. If you’re not careful when opening and closing that door, the seal can fall out and if you don’t notice, it’s easily lost. Without that seal, the case is no longer water resistant in any way.My advice to anyone using these cases, is to save that blue seal from worn out cases, to replace lost ones on your current case. Because the company WON’T send you a replacement blue seal, even if you offer to pay them for a bag of the things. That being said, the warranty on these is good enough that the company will often send you a whole new case if yours fails for any reason, including that little blue seal falling out and getting lost. Personally, I’d rather have the case without the design flaws, but a top notch warranty will make up for a lot.Overall, while they’re new, they work great. Just keep an eye on them and don’t trust the eater proofing once one of those design flaws rears its ugly head.

doesn't have a front cover, still maintains water proof function
I'm a loyal customer of lifeproof nuud case series.I buy this case for every single apple device.I know it's a little bit pricey, but as you know the quality behind it, you'll think it is worth the price.(ahh, I wish it were $50 less.... cough...cough....)What so special about this case is that it doesn't have a front cover protecting the screen, but it still maintains water proof function. There are so many water resistant ziploc cases out in the market, but I haven't seen such a thing. This trait let you use iPad in the bath with comfortable swiping and flicking. Also, even though it doesn't have a front cover, this cover is well designed to protect the front screen from being shattered when you drop it.When you drop an iPad, the corner or the side is the part that it will collides with the ground, making the front screen shatter.Even if you drop an iPad in a way that the screen hits parallel to the ground, a slight thickess of the side cover actually protects the screen from touching the ground directly. So, most of the time, in a daily use, you actually don't need a front cover for protecting the front screen from shattering when you drop it.This was a real discovery for me after I purchased lifeproof nuud case series.Last of all, I leave comments as to stuff people might wonder before the purchase. An opening for the lightning port is big enough to stick an apple pencil directly to iPad with the cover on.The case is easy to put on and take off with a help of an attached pick.Highly recommended

I'm wary of this device......
This rating is because some items that are to be included (as shown on the packaging) was not. See below.....Please look up Youtube videos on this before purchasing. (I did not.) The front piece for this case does NOT have a cover. No plastic, glass or other one to lay over the front glass of the iPad. The front piece has a rubber gasket that runs the periphery. the case works by creating a seal on the front glass at the outside border, leaving the front of the ipad exposed, hence the term "Nuud". The video and the packaging indicates it will include a device to open the case, once installed, and a sound cable, but neither was included. Also, not mentioned was that apparently the original package included a "dummy" device that you could test the effectiveness of this cover before you actually put it on your iPad. This package did not include this device. Therefore, there is no way to test the effectiveness of this case PRIOR to exposing your iPad to water (so if the case fails, your iPad could be ruined). The saving grace is that there are a few videos of this case on YouTube showing that the case is effective and it DOES protect the iPad (I'm sure this was done AFTER testing the case with the "dummy" device). IF this device works as shown in these videos, as I hope it does, then I'll be happy.Of note, one video says that using a glass protective cover can break the seal of this case, so I might put an undersized cover on it (maybe one for a 9 or 10" ipad for my 12" screen instead of the 12" one). That way, most of the front glass should be protected, without affecting the seal on this cover. I have not done it yet, but leaning that way for the extra protection.

Great Buy! One Small Problem!
Great product, worth the buy. Only problem is the little flap for the charging port. It's really flimsy, and can easily break with one mistake. My son broke it off the first night, after her pulled it off the charger with closing it. Luckily I found it and fixed it. Also there is a little blue rubber stopper in that same charging port flap that they didnt glue or secure to the product, so sometimes that blue rubber comes out. That whole charging port area is a fail in my book, there has to be another way. My advice is to make sure u close it every time after you finish charging. Other than all that the product is great and is a great buy. Just be careful with that port.
