Love this set
Love this set, teapot holds enough for the 6 cups which surprised me. It not only looks great but is great value for money.

Packaged well
This is a really good quality tea set and it comes well packaged. The set looks very stylish and looks lovely in the middle of the dining table. It would be perfect for a gift. The wood that goes around the cups is a really good idea especially because the cups have no handles. They protect your hands from getting burnt. The wooden rings are detachable so you can clean them separately, but I wouldn't recommend putting them in the dishwasher. You can just wipe them clean or rinse them off but make sure you dry them right afterwards and don't leave wet.The wooden slate is thick and good quality, it lifts out the plastic tray which makes it easier to clean. The tea pots handel is a little small and awkward to hold for bigger hands. The price is on the higher side but it is a quality set.

May be German made but looks and feels Japanese though a little form over function
This is a very attractive tea set, and while modern in appearance and made in Germany, still feels Japanese. The wood around the cups does a very good job at insulation as the heat of the hot tea can really be felt if you touch the exposed part or the base. It does mean, however, you can not place the hot cup on your hand and your table may need heat protection. The pot is solid but a little too design over function as handle is a little bit too short and while comfortable to hold while pouring, is not quite when picking it up. If anything the handle could do with an angle. Having said that, I have a real large traditional Japanese tea pot, with the handle on top, and that is more awkward to pour. Actually, while writing this I have just tried picking the pot up side on and that is fine, as is pouring. What did surprise me is the ceramic material at the top of the handle only slowly warms up and so far not close to the temperature of the rest of the pot, so no need (after all) of trying to hold the short wooden part. Handle is still a little too small.Tray is rather nice and what is not clear in the marketing photos is the plastic under tray to catch drips. It nicely matches the white of the cups and pot.Over all a very nice and functional tea set, though one for drinking small quantities (in a very eastern/Asian way).
