Lots of fun, you really get into it!
This requires tons of butter and the cookies come out flat and crispy but they are flavorsome. Easy enough for the kids to enjoy and perfect for getting into the holiday spirit.

All You Ugly Sweater Freaks
Loved these Ugly Sweater sugar cookies. We have a “ridiculous cookie tradition” for Christmas Day every year. And these definitely fit the bill. They’re tasty too. However, a helpful hint would be to buy your own frosting (I’ve learned this in the past). The frosting it comes with in the kit can be difficult to decorate with, and likes to leak everywhere. These cookies aren’t quite as tasty as the gingerbread version. But it’s still lots of fun.Pictured with “walking gingerdead men” and “ninjabread men.”

Get one for your holiday cookie exchange!
I purchased a number of these cookie kits at a greatly reduced price locally and thought the price for the kit online was high. But at the last minute I wanted to send one to a friend. Because I have Amazon Prime, I was able to get the kit to her in two days and the total price was about what I would have paid to purchase and mail it locally. That was the reason I purchased the kit online. As far as the kit goes, it is a fun idea for those holiday party and cookie exchanges. I really purchased it for the sweater cookie cutter inside because I couldn't find one locally. The kit comes with cookie mix, two packets of frosting mix, a plastic sweater cookie cutter, and assorted decorations. You need eggs and butter, etc. to make the final products. Read the package for specifics. I didn't use the powdered frosting kits (red packet, green packet) because they had a strong chemical smell. (That's why I didn't give it 5*.) I made my own frosting. I didn't use the cookie kit because I needed to make more cookies (I think the packet in the kit said it makes 8-10 cookies, which surprised me... I think you'd get less.) I used a store brand sugar cookie mix instead. I discovered that you need to roll out your dough at least 1/4 inch so that you could get an intact cookie... too thin and the arms break off when you try to transfer to cookie sheet. I baked them on parchment on the sheet. They sort of fill out with a rounded edge... if you wanted to decorate as cute puppies with long ears you would get another use out of the cookie cutter. The cookies were a big hit with friends at a local cookie exchange. I made them for the hostess as door prizes for the annual ugly sweater contest that went along with the exchange. I gave three of the kits out to close friends as part of their Christmas gift and kept one for myself. I think kids would have fun decorating their own ugly sweaters any time of year.

Don't waste your money.
The one shining star is for the cute idea. Other than that, there is absolutely nothing good about this product. The kit was supposed to make 12, mine only made 9, 4 of which broke apart when transferring from the baking sheet to the cooling rack. I didn't even bother mixing up the frostings for the 5 remaining cookies, so I can't review on those (though from what others say, the powdered food coloring has a weird taste). I began to decorate using cookie icing that I purchased for other cut-outs I was making and pressing the sprinkles into that to create my patterns and designs. It was so difficult and frustrating trying to grab a tiny little sprinkle and place it in the right spot. After making about half of one, I decided to taste it to see if it was even worth wasting my time decorating the remaining 4. Ew. So dry and grainy. The mix did smell weird when I was mixing it, which should have been a sign right there to pitch it and save myself an hour of my time. I ended up just throwing it all away. If you like the idea and want to create ugly sweater cookies, just purchase a cookie cutter in the shape of a sweater and buy your icing and sprinkles elsewhere. There are plenty of great cut-out cookie recipes out there that use basic kitchen staples that you already have like flour, butter, and egg, so don't worry about not having a mix to use. Trust me, they'll turn out much better for you, and chances are you'll get more than 5 cookies out of it.

This set was SO fun to use!
This cookie making set was SO fun to use when making sugar cookies for Christmas. My granddaughter and I did not decorate them as thoroughly as the examples showed, but we did have fun making and decorating them. This set is complete and I would recommend it for holiday activity fun.

Fun to look at, just don't eat them
Icing was gross and very little amount. We had to make our own. Cookies don't taste good. But it was fun to decorate and set out.

Love This Ugly Sweater Decorating Kit!
This is the first decorating set I’ve bought that isn’t pre-made cookies and it’s the first cookies I have ever liked. We love them and can’t stop eating them. We made 8 sweaters and then my daughter made a bear and a snowflake: highly recommend - just ordered another one for when our family is in town this Christmas! ♥️

Lots of Fun For All!
My nieces are getting old enough, it's hard to find something that they think is cool. But they both enjoyed making ugly Christmas sweater cookies so much, we had to go to the store For more supplies to make more! They made gifts for their friends and teachers.
