After many battles, they're still holding up to our younglings' duels
My two boys have showed interest in Star Wars, so I wanted to get them a set of lightsabers for play duels. These are a great value, and I figured that even if they didn't last too long, they wouldn't be that expensive to replace. I actually ordered a second set to have on hand, should one of these break. After several weeks and many battles, they are still holding up well. The sounds and lights aren't as high quality as some of the higher end dueling sabers, but that's a whole different category that is easily 10X the cost.Overall - if you want an inexpensive set of sabers for young kids, these are great and will entertain them.Update, over a year later: They're still holding up and working well. The screws for the battery compartment have come out on a couple of them, but I was able to find some screws that fit well enough. Honestly, I'm surprised that they're still working and in 1 piece, given the number of hits and whacks they've taken. Easily one of the best values for the the younglings.

Probably better than the competition
Hi, I bought a pair of blue and green laser swords/dual saber for our Star Wars Halloween theme this year (2019). As you can see, these little beauties give off plenty of light, much brighter than the Star Wars name brand red light saber my brother bought. Personally, we prefer the fact that the blade does not telescope; the telescoping blade is awkward, does not always retract or extend smoothly, and may suddenly collapse if kids are using it to play with. The sounds are not absolutely identical to the Star Wars film sound effects but not bad. When you turn it on, there are multiple LED lights in series the length of the "blade" and so it "extends" by activating each light in succession, accompanied by the buzz/"whoosh" sound. If your kids play with them and the blades collide with some force, they will flash and whine similar to the films. There is a separate second button on the handle to activate a mode with swooshing, crashing sound effects, but they are rather odd, like cartoon sound effects, and the blade will flash more dramatically. Not bad, but we didn't find it very appealing. Lastly, the blade seems pretty durable: the boys could actually clash with the blades without any sign of problems as long as they did not get carried away.In SUMMARY:PROS1. Durable blade that will withstand mock battles (assuming you don't get carried away). 2. Very bright, brighter than equivalent toy light sabers. 3. Multiple LED lights in the blade allow it to "extend" by activating each light in succession. 4. Comes with sound effects. 5. Best price you will find - two for the price of one.CONS1. The blade does not retract or separate, which is an advantage and disadvantage, depending on how you look at it. 2. They are relatively short: see the attached photos. Good for kids and costumes, maybe not if you want to go for the most authentic look. In that case, you will likely spend five to ten times as much money!

My grandson loves his light Sabre!
I like that the colors were vibrant. I like that he can make one big Sabre or two smaller sabres. I don’t like that I think they won’t last.

Look great but don't last
We're on set two and just over the return window yet again something has happened. The first set we ordered the light went out on the tip of the blue one. We ordered a replacement. And now, just over a month old, on the second set the plastic has cracked making the saber wobble in the holder. My son loves them, but they aren't durable at all.

Great buy
My son loves them. He's played with them non-stop since they arrived.

Bright!
My son liked it because it is bright. The sound was annoying but fun. Doesn't eat the batteries up, had them in there for over 6 months and still making noise and lighting up like the first time we bought it.

My 8 year old has been playing with these things NON STOP!
The media could not be loaded. BEST $25 dollars I ever spent! Hands down! These things light up, take a beating, make cool sounds, and hook together what more could a kid want...? The answer is another pair so he can be General Grevous! Not sure how long they hold up but I will update if they fail, so far so good.UPDATE: These started to fall apart after a week of constant hard use. I found a lightsaber with a metal hilt/handle and one that is made to smash around it is more then twice the cost of these 2 sabers for one of the legit ones. These were good while they lasted. UPDATE" well they lasted about a week and a half before the lights started to go out and the sabers would not stay mated together.
