Q: what is everyone using to sharpen this knife? I am trying to decide between the global ceramic sharpener or a whetstone

I used the Global Sharpener. I can not recommend the whetstone as I don't know enough about knives etc. What I can say is to pay attention while using the knife at all times. The knife cuts through things so easily that you can lose sight of how dangerous it is. On Christmas day, I sliced my thumb open real good while cutting through Acorn Squash. Still hasn't completely healed. Any deeper and I would've needed medical attention.All that to say.... just stick with the Global Sharpener. It's only $18 or so, and I regularly use it for Yellow Fin Tuna, and Squash.All that to say.... just

Q: The product weight says 0.16 ounces which is about 4.5grams?! What does this knife actually weigh?

Not sure about that accuracy of the weight and I do not possess a scale. But that knife is light and balanced compared to my old school wusthoff’s.

Q: does global knives really have a life time warranty if they break (with proper care of course)?

I've had 2 Global knives for 25 years, no problems whatsoever and are used daily. My good friend buys Shun knives and while beautiful to look at, they are delicate and twice the price of the Global knives (the sharp side gets chipped & tattered). I think they've ruined 3 in the last 5 years and for some reason re-purchase the same brand, I no longer drool over Shun knives.

Q: it specifies good for cutting veggies, how about meats? will it cut through fish's skin?

This knife is an all purpose knife. It will cut meat, fish and vegetables.
