Why did you pick this product vs others?:Our waiter at Il Mercato used this, and we were impressed by how well it worked. He wrote the name for us, and we checked on Amazon when we returned home. It's also easy to clean. The plastic is sturdy, it's easy to operate, and it grates quickly. We highly recommend.

Works really well for parmesan cheese. Better than I expected after I read the other reviews. Easy to clean and simple. Switch it to left or right hand.

Nice sleek design, works for both left and right handed people--a clipped ring on the side allows the flexibility. It is light, and the two drums allow for thin and coarse grating. Easy top use, to take apart (and to clean, but a small caveat). Just one tiny reservation: the design of the metallic drums is such that there's a tiny slit where the two ends of the curved metal piece join, and cheese catches when you turn the drum, and gets stuck in that slit, difficult to dislodge when cleaning. Without this detail, it would be 5 stars.

Had purchased the Zyliss rotary grater that was top-rated by America's Test Kitchen. Great for hard cheeses, but awful for soft. Bought this one in hopes that the larger holes would let it succeed where the Zyliss failed. It did!The grating drums are open on both ends, making clean-up MUCH easier. The large-hole drum is great for soft cheeses, the small-hole drum rips through hard cheeses. The IKEA uses a locking end cap to keep the drum in place; it's easier to disassemble for cleaning than the Zyliss.The handle and crank are both longer on this than on the Zyliss. That might be a drawback for those with smaller hands.Hard to argue with the reputation or build quality of the Zyliss, but for my money, this gadget from IKEA is a better value.

We replaced our Pampered Chef cheese grater with this one and it is fantastic! It does a great job grating different cheeses. I appreciate the different size options, and one of my kids is left-handed and the grater can be reversed to be used with either hand allowing for flexibility.

Works great. Easy to clean

I decided it was time to stop eating the processed cheese and start using fresh. This grater is a must. I used it almost everyday for my salads and in the skillet. Hard cheese is easy as well as things like carrots. It's also easy to switch the graters (fine and coarse). It's also easy to clean. Love it!

I imagine it works fine for harder cheese, however a recommendation said it works well for mozzarella, not really. I mean it grates it, but the elbow work makes it takes literally 5 times longer than a box grater. Well made product though especially for the price.
