One Star – Tastes Like Barbecue Beef Jerky, Not Fruit!I don’t know what kind of “fruit” this is supposed to be, but it tastes like someone marinated a tire in barbecue beef jerky seasoning and passed it off as dried fruit. I was expecting something sweet, juicy, and fruity – you know, like the package says. Instead, I got a weirdly smoky, chewy bite of disappointment. It’s not even remotely fruity. Honestly, I had to double-check that this wasn’t some kind of prank snack. If you’re craving a fruity treat, look elsewhere – unless you’re into jerky-flavored mystery balls.

These smell like they were dried over a wood fire but none of that confess through when they are rehydrated. I only use them in herbal teas. If I were eating them as is the smell would be too off-putting but because I know how they taste when rehydrated I have no problem with them. I am on my second bag and would confidently purchase another when needed. To be fair this is the only dried longan I've used so I'm comparing them to another brand right now, but the quality is more than adequate for my needs.

It has a nice set fragrance when you open the bag. A lot of TCM recipes call for use of longan, also referred to as dragons or dragon eyes. The rate is not overwhelming in tea. Very good. Will keep buying these. The bag is not huge but the price is not bad. The coins in the image are for size comparison.

Nothing like what I’ve tasted before, and definitely am not caring to experience again. Absolutely awful. Dry and crumbly ( dry being a given ) but this was extreme, and horribly sweet almost chemically tasting. . No one in our family enjoyed them. Squirrels loved them though!

Tasty I use this for my beauty tea mixed with Gogi berries and jujube dates and snow fungus together. Good quality.

I have been carrying around dried fruit and beef jerky in my purse as a substitute for candy and junk food. I wanted to try new flavors of dried fruit so I order longan. I honestly could not tell you if this is a bad batch, or if this is what dried longan taste like. It taste like dried meat instead of fruity. The texture was pleasant, the smell was ok, but the taste was not good. I can't recommend based on my experience, but maybe I'm confused about how it's supposed to taste. According to other customers, it isn't supposed to taste like jerky.
