Is there a LAN (local area network) function or adhoc ability so you can connect with other consoles for multiplayer?

It has wireless multi console only. No WiFi play.

How do you drive with no steering wheel

Thumbstick like most racers before motion controls. The Pro Controller works great, as does the joy-con grip. Great game, sequel coming later this month!

It does have a multiplayer function.
