what size is the steamer/top section?

The top steamer basket is 3 1/2 deep and 10” across. Love this so much we own two. You can put a extra large head of cauliflower (cut up) or two normal size broccoli heads in one. We use ours 2-3 times a week. Corn on the cob, fresh green beans. The list is endless. We used to microwave vegetables. Yup. Lazy. Now I would not cook vegetables any other way except steamed.
