When this set was in production, it was $100. The $50 set is a different hospital set. When a LEGO set stops getting produced, or "retires", it often goes up in price as it becomes more rare.

Is this item authentic Lego set?

I am very sorry but I don't remember this at all! I purchased many Lego sets for a granddaughter and, as far as I know, they were all genuine Legos. I never heard otherwise. Good luck!
