You do not need to be crafty to be able to do this. It has easy step by step instructions and if you mess the handprint up it’s very easy to redo before you bake it. I think it turned out super cute for our babies first Christmas ornament.

Was so excited to find the exact kit I used with my first child, to use with my second. The instructions state to knead the dough for 2 minutes to get it workable. It immediately crumbled upon touch. Tried multiple times to incorporate the dough, with no luck. Only the smallest bit would knead, but it is not enough to fit the wooden frame. Unable to get a return, because who wants to fuss with sending the manufacturer clay dust?

It was easily to assemble but it took a few tries to get the clay rolled out right. Easy to mold and soft for your baby to push down. It dried nicely and has not flaked or broken

This turned out nice! It was easy to use and looks like it’s supposed to. I used it for my baby and my dog! My only complaint is the glitter, I feel like it’s going to rub off pretty easily over the years.

Bought 3 of these to use as gifts. This product is more expensive than the pottery barn kids version. It is also not a quick project... you will need the better part of a day for all the steps (creating the clay impression, baking, cooling, letting the glue/glitter dry overnight, assembly, etc). Definitely heed the directions when they say to wash your hands, baby's hands, and the surface you'll be working on to avoid having dust and particles show up in the white clay (even small particles are very visible).Wish the clay were a little more malleable and less prone to air pockets (yes, I kneaded it for the recommended 2 minutes). The clay circle is big enough for our 5 month old's handprint with room to spare. We really like the look of the wooden frame and appreciate that the clay is somewhat protected in case the ornament is dropped. But the issues described in other reviews regarding the size/shape of the clay vs the size/shape of the wooden ring are accurate. The round plastic clay stencil/cutter didn't produce a shape that fit perfectly into the wooden frame, even though we did baby's hand impression before we cut the clay and cut the clay right on the parchment paper/cookie sheet (i.e., we never moved the clay after to avoid altering the shape). After baking the clay, there were gaps between the wood and the clay in some areas, so had to exchange for a new kit (and we had the same problem).There was also no brown tag with the kit even though it is pictured with the product photos, but there was a piece of twine to hang the ornament on your tree, and a piece of red ribbon to tie on the candy cane. They have thankfully gotten rid of those awful looking pipe cleaner candy canes and replaced with a plastic one that has red ribbon wrapped around it. The glitter really makes the handprint pop (they provided ample glue, glitter and good tools for application) and we appreciated the high quality red box it comes in.Overall, it's a darling product, but there are some challenges that should be addressed.

Perfect keepsake for my daughter’s hand. She’s a wiggly toddler so it took a few tries. The dough can easily be rolled back up and reformed several times, it took us quite a few tries to get her hand right. Easy to work with!

I have purchased this 2 times! One for each of my children. The instructions are easy to follow and the end product comes out SO CUTE! These are my favorite ornaments to hang on the tree each year. I wish cherish these forever.This kit comes with everything you need to make the ornament keepsake.
