Early spring 2019 the plants range from 4 feet to 7 feet.

Does this type spread?

Yes, but only a couple of feet. It is a clumping type. You could install a barrier. But it does not spread like h running bamboo

Where are you located? From where do you ship?

We are in Hawthorne Florida - about 15 miles east of Gainesville Florida

I am in westchester,ny. would this survive and grow here?

Not sure of your low temps there, however Seabreeze clumping bamboo is one of the more "cold hardy" bamboo. When I bought mine (from diff seller) it stated it was okay for temps dropping to 20*F. I live in TN, our temps dropped down to 17*F this past January, I piled up the mulch all around it & was fortunate that mine survived. I would google & do some research, maybe send seller msg.
