This is a great "go to" bowl for many kitchen tasks. Sturdy, yet light weight. It's a great bowl to mix bread dough in. Easy to use one hand to mix and the other to turn the bowl without the ingredients coming out. Once dough is ready, I use it to let the dough rise in the same bowl. Once I'm finished, I use this bowl in the sink for a wash basin to clean up all my baking gadgets. Another great use is when mixing salads or other recipes with a lot of ingredients. Everything fits nicely with plenty of room to mix and no mess. Love it and I would purchase more of these bowls when needed.

Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before ordering this item. As you can see from my photo with a floating top in the mixing bowl, filling the bowl with 4 quarts of water is the edge of the full capacity of the bowl. I would highly recommend you find another option if you really need an 8 quart capacity mixing bowl.

I gave this to the church to use for fixing community meals.

This is a well-made bowl, and that's the last good thing I have to say about it. It was advertised as being 13 inches wide and 13 inches deep. The picture made it look like it was a deep bowl. It's not. It's a shallow bowl. And it does NOT hold 8 quarts! I have a 1-quart container, and I filled it with water, but I could only get 4 quarts into the bowl. 4 quarts filled it to the rim. I'm pretty angry I was misled.

The bowls I received only held 6 quarts and NOT 8, even though the item # seemed correct. So I assumed it was an error & reordered. The new shipment's bowls were also 6 quart. Trust me, I measured & remeasured until my kitchen & I were soaking wet. The American Metalcraft 4 quart bowls also came up short, only holding 3 quarts. I can only assume that the retailer is banking on few people noticing a 25% reduction in capacity. Shame on them!! And poor Amazon for having to pay return shipping for these swindlers!

I knew something wasn't right when my package had 2 mixing bowls & books and it weighed less than 5 lbs. I'm sending this bowl back right away!! I like to have quality products in my kitchen and this is not quality. I'm so disappointed!!
