Lumiline Clear 11.75" Replacement LED of Old Incandescent Lamp, Bulb

The one I ordered AND received is actually the 17.75". It is not like the old cloudy white fluorescent bulb, but clear glass with cheery bright strips of LED lights. Much brighter and fun, and should last many years being LED.

Bright, fits a 1951 fixture perfect

I purchased a clear and a frosted version as an experiment and I'm back to the drawing board. LEDs are a directional source whereas the old incandescent lumiline is a radial source. This product has one strip of LEDs on one plane which directs light out of the lamp in only one direction. Some of the fixtures I was hoping to use this in are designed to take advantage of the radial nature of the incandescent source. Maybe a radial array within the lens would work better?The intensity of the light is also substantially more than a side-by-side comparison with a working incandescent lumiline. The color temperature also seems to be substantially cooler than described. These two factors combine to create a very harsh effect making them only an OK substitute for the incandescent.One of the lamps seemed to have an acrylic lens - not glass. One of the lamps didn't seat well onto the existing fixture base - I ended up wedging some material in between the glass and the edge of the socket to keep the lamp in contact with the fixture pin. Might be a worn fixture pin, but a standard lumiline worked fine in the socket pointing to a problem with the LED.The frosted version was hardly frosted. Individual LED chips were still extremely visible through the coating.Shipping was fine. Product was well packaged in a cardboard prism with bubble wrap.I won't be buying any more - just not the right solution for a very unique situation.
