Good for Pet Dog Owners
Let me start, I have nothing against mixed breed dogs or dogs that spend their lives as couch potatoes. For people that have dogs that fall into this catigory, this magazine is great. DOG FANCY used to be dedicated to purebred dogs and dog activities (shows, obedience, agility, etc.). I always had a subscription. After the last year of having DOG FANCY, I am very disappointed. It does have a breed or two featured each month, and has some articles re. the sport of dogs. I have found, however, that the majority of these articles are written by professional writers and not dog experts. An example, a feature article written about the Chinese Crested noted at the end, ... is a freelance writer in Southern California and the former editor of BowTie Magizines Popular Dog Series. Another about the Tosa Inu states, ... is a writer and editor in Austin Texas, where her Golder Retriever-Poodle mix, Holly, keeps her company. Both of these articles were written about a specific breed, and according to the footnote, the authors never even owned the breed they were writing about. I find it hard to believe that DOG FANCY could not find an expert on a particular breed, that is capable of writing an informative article about the breed they love. The article on dog sports in general in this particular issue, has a footnote, ... is a DOG FANCY contributing editor and autor of Rescue Ink: How Ten Guys Saved Countless Dogs and Cats, Twelve Horses, Five Pigs, One Duck, and a Few Turtles. She Lives on Long Island in New York. I really don't know how that made her qualified to write about showing in obedience, conformation, agility, tracking, lure coursing, carting, etc. The magazine is not bad for the price, but is not the DOG FANCY I knew over the years.

Exceptional content and value
I am a magazine lover and read many on a large variety of subjects. I have looked at some "Pet Magazines" but too often they are too simple or repetetive in their content. This magazine is fun to read; informative; and seems to contain something for just about everyone. It is full of great illustrations, and seems to contain a nicely rounded package of excellent reading that is fun as well as intertaining. I like the advertisements which seem to offer an exceptional variety of interesting and useful items which are pleasingly informative and fun for pet owners and their pets. This would make a welcome gift for the upcoming holidays and seems to have something for everyone. Try it and see if you don't agree. I highly recommend "Dog Fancy" as an excellent source for current pet owners and especially first time owners.Asin: Dog Fancy Dog Fancy (1-year auto-renewal)

Dog Fancy Rates an Excellent
Dog Fancy is an excellent magazine with something for every level of dog owner. I took away one star because it was very thin compared to the past, but I understand costs to publish also. Many of the articles are truly informative with up to date new information. I also enjoy the photos and information about the featured breeds of the month. It is also interesting to learn about new, innovative items and I have done some gift shopping from those pages. I find the classified breed adds interesting, especially those with photos. Advertisers should be cautioned to use larger print on light backgrounds for older readers. Keep up the good work Dog Fancy.

Great Tips
I love this magazine it is one of two I still get in print and not on the Kindle, the reason being I love to read it to the "subscriber" yes my furbaby. He is 13 years old and loves for me to read to him his DogFancy when it arrives. He loves the centerfold lol. SOn a serious it has a lot of great ideas and tips for pet parents, this last issue had a tot of great ideas on easing your dogs pain and how to exercise with out hurting them when they become a senior. Great and practical things inside.

good but took a bit
I have had a subscription for years but this is the first year using amazon. You get a newsstand copy so it's a bit different and took a while to get here (my first 2 issues). I've only gotten the first issues sent so far so I'm not sure how quick you get each issue but I am caught up to the newsstand.

Gift for my niece
Wonderful magazine, my niece loves getting it. Her room is always covered in the posters, which are nice mementos of every issue! The articles are informative and not over her head either (she's a smart thirteen-year-old but this was a renewal of a subscription I gave her last year.) I would recommend this for dog lover's young and old; I actually get the cat version of it and I'm in my thirties! Any age is great for learning something new about our furry friends :)

Dog Fancy review
I enjoy reading Dog Fancy for its variety of topics and focus on specific breeds as well as mixed breeds. I am the proud owner of a very sweet labradoodle who does work as a therapy dog. I have read several articles on this topic which have enlightened many animal owners as to the important role therapy dogs play in people's lives. It is my hope that more readers of your magazine will volunteer their time with their dogs to help people.
