Excellent beginners' learning drums
Initially, I wanted to return this, but felt Amazon deserves a second chance, so practiced with it, and changed my mind. Have experience with Simmons SDMK1 pad, which costs over three times as much, without speakers. This is a terrific drum learning product, and at a bargain price. If beginning, I would choose this over any other pad. It is a for-fun or learning tool, less so than a performer's tool.First, the downside, and it is a major one. The rubber pads aren't that sensitive for about ½" from their edge. This means that, one has to strike harder near the edge or one has to be accurate. And, there is no soft hit, because the strike needs to pass a threshold. It's actually quite a problem. For the beginner though, this may be an advantage, because it encourages accurate, forceful strike placement and increased force.Otherwise, it's a great, complete product:. Sounds very good; my Simmons sounds better, but costs significantly more.. Can be played with hands as well, and this actually worked well after some practice.. Learnings can be transferred to real drums.. Portable, including use with batteries. For example, can be played on camping trips.. Has accompaniment music without drum portion that's great for learning how to play in harmony.A serious drummer probably won't like this product, because of the above mentioned pads' sides issues and because it isn't fast. But, if you're wanting to learn drums to accompany others' music, the speed issue is lesser important. So, I have to give it a 5 star--because, for the beginner and for the bargain price, it is an excellent tool.

Good item, bad accessories
The first thing I noticed about this item is the pointless rebranding and awful packaging. The DD-308 on the box had been taped over and "305" written in its place. This rebranding caused me some confusion when I was researching the product. The DD-308 and the DD-305 are the same product. The drumsticks they sent me are used and of two different sizes in both circumference and length. One stick has beat marks all over it. The headphones use a usual headphone jack, but the port on the back only accepts 1/4" jacks, so now I have to buy an adapter to use the headphones. The drumpad itself is pretty nice, its very thick, but pretty lightweight. It's loud enough and the drumpads are sensitive enough and do respond to differences in how hard you hit them making it easy enough to add accents. The pedals are very sensitive, sometimes double hitting when you don't mean to. It has tons of sounds to assign to the pads and lots of songs to play along with if you want. You can turn off just the drums in the songs so it doesn't distract you.All in all, I like the product. This would get 5 stars if I could use the headphones, if the drumsticks where new, and if it where a bit thinner.

DO NOT Order!
This was the first drum pad I ordered, and it arrived in bad condition. It appeared used, headset was ripped, box damaged, and it sounded like there was feedback static playing through. Very disappointing! I ordered a replacement because this was off a friends wishlist (for their birthday), and this second one is in even WORSE shape! I will never order from this company again.

OK but not great.
I purchased this product for the purpose of determining if I wanted to get back into drumming as a hobby. Many years ago I played at the University level but as life moved on other priorities took over and there was no longer time to play. At first I thought this product was ok but as some of the old skills returned the product became less and less useful. The sound is ok as are the toms and the portability is great but other than that there are serious issues. The base pedal is incredibly sensitive and frequently double hits on a single stroke of your foot, pad rebound or bounce not so great, but the most aggravating is the almost ridiculously small area on the snare you must hit in order to produce sound. On the product I received that area was about the size of a penny. I suppose that does force one to become more accurate but no drummer needs to be that accurate. If you miss the penny size sweet spot it throws off your tempo and really is detrimental to your practice session. Personally I think it does more harm than good. It might very we'll be that I just received a "lemon" as I have noticed others have given this product good ratings. Personally I really think it is more of a toy than anything else. If you are serious about drumming, either beginner or someone like me just trying to reconnect to and enjoy an old skill, then I would recommend spending a few more bucks and get a regular size electric drum kit. They are not that expensive, are lightweight, and for sure you will be able to transition to a standard drum set with greater ease.

Pays the price
A cheap and simple equipament. Ideal to who wants to learn and doesn't have space or money to something better. Actually it delivers what promises. All pieces were working and sounding good with a lot of utilities and options. I recommend.I found for now only one problem. Sometimes the pedal sounds twice when pressed down.
