This book missed the mark.
I found this book confusing. The archery instructions rambled on without a concise explanation, and his story of growing up practicing archery was the best part of the book. The author overlooked essential aspects of archery while confusing with his long-winded explanation of other areas of his instructions. I write this because I am his target audience. I am a true beginner in the sport and was frustrated with his first three chapters on archery. His final chapter on his Christian Catholic theology also missed his mark. He states that through our effort, we can find favor with God. However, the Bible says that we can only become children of God through Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Bad Theology,

A good read
This book is a good read. I suggest the reader should practice patience and allow the author to take you along through his thought process. Mr. McVeigh describes his method, and experiences, towards achieving success in life, which embraces faith in God, humble introspection, and the belief that good form (as in archery) leads to success and achievement in leading a better life. I take away the concept that of all the choices we have in this life we have the opportunity to focus on God's plan versus whatever we conjure up as our life plan. To maintain focus and form to hit the spot in archery can be a good model to hit life goals. Good form and focused practice pays off. I appreciate how the author shared his philosophy. Thank you Mr. McVeigh for having the intestinal fortitude to write this book and self publish.

an excellent book on archery
I first found Sean on Youtube and really liked his archery videos. He mentioned this book on one of them so I decided to order it, because I wanted something I could have in hand to refer to while out at the target. The narrative presentation keeps the reading personal and interesting, and I really like his approach and method to learning archery. He explains how to analyze what you're doing, how it effects your accuracy, and how to correct it. He admonishes patience and repetition, and I agree these are key practice components to becoming a better archer.I like the way the book is divided into sections and personally appreciated his spiritual testimony.

A good read for
some archery pointers and at the same time, a few lessons on the spirit of God! The book deals with a lot of technical issue of repeated performance with the bow and arrow. The only thing that I would have liked to see, is more information on tree stand hunting. You just don't always have the luxury of having good foot placement 20 feet high on a 12" x 18" platform when a deer pops into your window. I liked how he tied the spiritual aspect of good shooting and being relaxed.Just started Sean C. McVeigh's other book on "Becoming a World-Class Hunter". I would recommend both of these books for the archer who wants to improve their archery skills and enjoy what God has given to us.

A worthwhile read
The writer is thorough on the subject of archery, candid on his faith and the writing is accessible. I've learned a ton through this book and his YouTube channel. I'm half-way through the book right now

Absolutely amazing! Many excellent tips on archery shared from his own experiences. A "must have" for the beginner. a "should have" for the experienced, and a "wish I'd had it" for those who are the accomplished, but could have arrived much sooner!

Tremendous! Must read!
I grew up shooting bows, more for fun than anything else. Now, at 37 years old, I decided to get into it seriously. I purchased a good brand compound bow, but didn’t know anything about it. So eventually, after a few youtube searches, I came accross Sean’s videos. They helped me more than words can say. And this book helped me even more to understand the intricacies of archery. I strongly recomend this book for anyone who is starting or even a veteran in archery. There is always something to learn! I also recomend this book to everyone else who is not involved in archery: at its core, this book speaks of getting, maintaining and sharpening your focus in anything you do in life. We can all benefit from that! Our first focus that will affect everything else in our lives is the Lord Jesus Christ.Well done, Sean!

Interesting spiritual take on archery
So the author and I obviously have different views on spirituality we can agree that archery is a deeply spiritual practice that involves breath being in the now and focus.

Not gonna read this.
Got it on kindle, hard to read on my phone, by the time I would finish reading this book, I'd be blind, and no way to shoot my bow no more. Buy the real book version.
