Great cube for the price
BLUFF: if you're on the fence, just buy it.Long version: We spent $8 on this 3x3 and my son has used it *a lot* for the past 4 months. Some days it was hours, literally. The textured stickers are great (and can help with grip), and you can adjust tension by popping off the center caps. It has withstood being dropped and mishandled by toddlers and has held up well. A few of the inside connection pieces have broken off of the individual pieces, but it still functions well (just occasionally pops apart). It has even withstood being chucked through the yard at the house and only the caps of the centers came off (RIP blue, one day we'll find you). Few downsides...the stickers can get dinged up if a two year old tries to scratch them off. And the orange somehow faded in the sunlight from being left out for 20 minutes (so be careful). But overall an excellent cube, and a great deal for the price. My son keeps it lubed and we're not in competitions, but he would definitely buy it again.

The cube has come a long way.
Trivia 101: The Rubik's Cube was a 1974 invention of Ernő Rubik of Hungary. But, if my memory serves me well, it didn't hit stateside until the early 80's. I was a kid in the Big Apple when the magic cube hit the market. Became an instant bestseller.Seems to be having a revival of sorts. Bought one for my little girls. They love it. Advised them to scope out a few DIY YouTube videos on how to solve it.Now before I digress, my review is on this particular iteration of the cube. It's not glossy like the original, which is not a bad thing. It has a good rough tactile feel. Which is good for the grip when moving the faces. And the pieces move quite seamlessly. For now, I can't seem to pick any cons with this. Go on and pick one up.A definite recommend.

Stickers have a kind of texture on them for slip resistance.
I prefer stickers to tiles because I prefer seeing the black borders on the rims (is it just me?) and because the tiled cubes leave fingerprints on them, which I don't like. I also like that the stickers on this have a texture to them for slip-resistance. I've had this for over a week now and I've been playing with it almost nonstop (no wear or tear). This cube is advertised so that you can pop the pieces off and then put them back together (I personally have't tested that - I'm just merely saying it so you guys are aware). It rotates smoothly (yes there may be some slight lags but I'm not too bothered by them). I recommend this. Great price too!Bonus, if you're trying to learn how to solve Rubik's or other speed cubes, I suggest you check out Noah Richardson's videos on YouTube (just a suggestion, not advertising or anything).

Big surprise!
I bought the rubiks cube a gift for my son, he loves it very much. At first, I thought him might do not know how to play. He never plays rubik cube before this. He is only 4 years. I just want he use the cube to exercise his fingers. But days late, he asked me to see his masterpiece. Wow, he solved two sides of the cube by himself. I cannot believe my eyes. I never taught him how to play it. I am wondering how he finished it. But he said "Dady, I can learn how to play through the instruction, you see, just do as it shows, turn left and turn up, then ......" Hahaha, what a clever boy.

The rubics cube turns smoothly. Good product.
I brought the rubics cube as a gift for my little brother. He always plays electronics which is very harmful to his eyes. But now I don't need to worry about it again, he is falling in loving with the cube. He spends his free time playing the cube instead of electronics. The cube turns smoothly. Good product.

Smooth
I've never had one that turns so smooth. It doesn't stick or get hung up because the inter corners of the pieces are rounded. I love it!If you don't know how to solve it the instructions that come with it are printed extremely small (you will need a magnifying glass) and the Chinese and English are written together. The official Rubix Cube website has a downloadable PDF instructions that looks very good. One of The Teaching Company's Great Courses is a lecture series called 'The Mathematics of Games and Puzzles'. Lecture 9 is 'Mastering the Rubix Cube'. I highly recommend it. That's how I learned and it only took a few days.

Better cube
Soooo I bought this because I bought my boyfriend one for Christmas and he wouldn’t let me use his until he was done. So I bought my own! He switched and took mine because this one is far more easier to use than his, the spring inside makes the turns far more easier.

Very smooth turns, great for speed solvers.
This cube is much easier to spin then other cheaper ones I have bought before. Feels sturdy and functions as it's supposed to, now I just have to learn how to solve these lol.
