I am a completely satsified customer!
I was a bit skeptical after reading a few 1 and 2 star reviews, but I ordered it anyway. Glad I did. The keyboard itself is very lightweight, but it still has a quality feel to it. Some people apparently had problems with the power cord. I didn't, mine worked perfectly. Some people didn't like the headphones, (said they had a bad sound...) maybe I'm just not sound-sensitive enough about what 'sound quality' is, but I have no complaints at all. In fact, I think the sound is really very good and it sounds EXACTLY like what I hear coming directly from the keyboard itself. Which reminds me to mention that I am very pleased with the sound of the keyboard. The various 'voices', (guitar, strings, grand piano, etc...) truly do sound like the particular instrument. (the only one that's bit 'iffy' is the Brass setting. Not that it's a bad sound, just not exactly like a brass horn. Go figure... after all, it's a piano! I should probably note that I am nowhere near being a professional musician and this keyboard was purchased just so I could mess around with it and play chord music. But I am not the least bit disappointed and I would most definitely recommend this particular model to anyone wanting a good quality, nice sounding yet inexpensive electric keyboard. The music holder does come with the keyboard, along with the headphones and power cord. And I will probably go ahead and purchase the sustain pedal. All in all, I am a very satisfied Amazon customer!

Great keyboard! DOES NOT COME WITH AN A/C ADAPTER!
My husband is tone-deaf and has no rhythm, so I was intrigued when he said he wanted a keyboard. We did our research, and this Yamaha fit the bill. He LOVES the sound effects, and the beat patterns are helping him get some rhythm! (It also helps that he can use the headphones when he's playing around, so I don't have to listen to it!) I played piano for many years, and when he gets tired of it, I hope to get some time on it to! It's great with only 61 keys, too! When any family members come over, they can't resist playing with it! JUST REMEMBER: IT DOES NOT COME WITH AN A/C ADAPTER, YOU HAVE TO BUY THAT SEPARATELY (ABOUT $5 FROM AMAZON), AND IT TAKES 6 BATTERIES. We also bought the stand, which was a great decision. It's a lotta fun!!! (I found out about the A/C adapter from reading customer reviews on Amazon...they really are invaluable!)

Novice opinion - GREAT keyboard!
I will preface by saying I am a keyboard NOVICE! Before this purchase, I played around on a Yamaha my parents bought in the 80s. When that old keyboard began to sound undoubtedly like it was.. you know... from the 80s, I decided to upgrade. After much comparison shopping, I purchased this Yamaha 61-key and I'm SO happy with the decision! I bought the standalone keyboard, not the kit with stand/headphones.I don't know tonally how high-end keyboards sound, but I am very impressed with the clarity and sound produced by this product (both through the speakers and my Sennheiser headphones). The different rhythms/sounds/instruments are endlessly entertaining. If you are looking for a casual playing experience that makes you feel more experienced than you are, I absolutely recommend this product.FYI - The power supply is sold separately.

wrong stand for Yamaha YPT-240 keyboard
The keyboard works well but the stand didn't fit the keyboard; it was the wrong stand, included in the Yamaha box with the keyboard. I noticed that other reviewers have reported the same problem. I contacted Yamaha who replied that 'Amazon made the decision to bundle the Yamaha YPT-240 keyboard with a different manufacturer's stand'. The stand included was a 'WorldTour Single-X Model # WOR SXKS'.I phoned Amazon and this is how the problem was resolved to my satisfaction:1. the correct stand for the Yamaha YPT-240 keyboard was identified as the 'Yamaha L3C keyboard Stand, available on Amazon for $29.95 ;2. I ordered the L3C keyboard stand and Amazon reimbursed me for this purchase ;3. I asked what I should do with the WorldTour stand and was told I need not return it ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Yamaha L3C keyboard stand fits the YPT-240 keyboard. However, it causes the keyboard to be too high, i.e. the height from the floor to the top of the white keys is nearly 30 inches. The standard height for a piano is 28.5 inches or less. A height of 30 inches (floor to top of white keys) is not acceptable, especially if the keyboard is intended for a young child beginning to learn. At this stage I am attempting to contact Yamaha to obtain a stand that is smaller than the L3C stand. Will update this comment when further news is available.

Love this- Great for Beginners
The media could not be loaded. Love this! I had a keyboard when I was younger but never learned to play, it is has been on my 'Bucketlist" to learn to play and i am now 27 years old and figured its 'time" to learn. I purchased this keyboard despite the confusing reviews. I noticed that the keyboard is very light weight compared to the keyboard I used to have. This is great for travel purposes its portable. It comes with a stand, set of headphones and the plug/charger. Now for the stand....the stand is tricky...if you do not put the stand together carefully you can easily put it together backwards which might be why some people have trouble with it. It took me about 30 mins to figure it out. Once i had it together I at first thought it was to small or the keyboard didn't fit but after adjusting it the keyboard does fit just fine, it is stable and not wobbly it just took some adjusting and readjusting to get it to sit just about right. If you want a really heavy stand, i suggest you just buy the single keyboard and buy your own heavy duty stand, this stand is portable so it is light weight - i would like to eventually upgrade the stand to heavier one because i wont be traveling with mine but at the end of the day it works just fine. I posted a video of what the keyboard sounds like.

Happy with the product
Happy with the product. The long delivery time which was not made explicitly clear while placing the online order on your website drives the rating.
