Map of the Inland Waterways of Great Britain

Fascinating
A really informative map of Britain's canals and fascinating to peruse. There are so many more canals than I had expected. Occasionally a little hard to read some of the detail, but overall well-worth the purchase

Large scale map
Lovely map. Not a guide to travelling day by day. Needs the full guides for that. But as a major overview of how big the system is it is invaluable.

Improved presentation but maybe use with caution
Nice bright laminated cover. Its folded size is a little larger than the elderly Imray it replaces, so slightly less folding is required. Interesting to see proposed new waterways as well as restoration projects. Print is clear and Miles + Locks + Time presentation between marked locations is useful.Downside may be its accuracy. I have no way of checking across the country but, unless something pretty radical has happened in the last two years since my visit, supported by today's review of the Wikipedia's entry, representation of the navigable sections of the Grantham Canal is very inaccurate.

Useful map
I bought this map to complement my 1965 Stanfords Inland Waterways map which is out-of-date following the re-opening of a number of sections of canal. Also it shows the routes of many now un-navigable canals, with clear indication of which sections are 'in water'. The edition I have is dated 2000 but I do not know if there are updates: it was second-hand. It usefully shows in colour the sections which are river navigations as compared to canal - which may affect plans for boat trips.

Absolutely love this map
I have used the map to decide where to go house hunting because I want to be near the waterways. Thank you.

A map of our floating highways.
It is what it is. One day I'll be using it to plan my routes around the waterways of England and Wales. Until then...dree-e-e-e-eam...dream, dream, dream...

The Pleasure of Map Reading
This map was part of my husbands Christmas present; bought because he had seen a programme about canals on the TV and had not realised that Britain had such a huge network of manmade inland waterways. He can now see them all on one excellent, easy to read, map which can be spread out on the table. So much more delightful than looking at google maps!
