Sevigny'sThin Ribbon Candy - Made in USA. 9 Oz. Box, (2 Pack)

My husband is itallian and his family had this in the house over the holidays. This was our first holidays without them so it was a perfect treat. We used 1 package for a hostes gift and kept the other for us. It was a little broken but not bad. It is hard to ship candy like that and not have any breakage. The flavors were amazing too.

I used to likeSevigny's Thin Ribbon Candy and this was a terrible disappointment. It was so terrible. The ribbon used to be my favorite candy. I hate this variation from what my memory recalls. It used to be so fragile and the flavors varied a lot. I ended up just throwing the 2 boxes away. .why? Even though the colors were pretty, Nothing else was positive. The ribbon was very thick, colors were very pretty……then…. Came the taste tests. Even though the colors were very pretty, the flavors let me down. There were only 2 flavors….hot cinnamon and tutti fruittie. Do you sell the original thin variation with a delicious variety?

Christmas is surely a time for being with family and friends, baking cookies, drinking egg nog, and remembering and reliving holiday traditions. This ribbon candy brings back many fond memories of Xmas past.The candy is sweet without being too sweet, similar maybe to other traditional hard candies, but with a wonderful ribbon shape that looks so festive in a small holiday bowl or dish. It just calls out to you to break off a piece to nibble on, then another and another and another! LOLI do recommend this candy for those who want to be nostalgic or for those who want to start a "new" holiday tradition in their house.

I teach a fiber arts class. I had planned to use this candy to demonstrate the up-and-down loops that resemble the stitch in traditional rug hooking. In traditional rug hooking, you pull up yarn through burlap over and over again to create the nap in the rug.The candy had apparently been shattered first, then heated somehow to result in tiny hard balls of mixed up, messy useless blobs.I was so glad I did not open the package during my class! It may have produced a laugh, and I would have looked stupid, but the worst part is that it would have gotten all over my rug hooking kits. I would have had to refund the class money to my students, about $1,000.

Sturdiness:all the peices were broken

I’m not one for knocking stuff but if care was taken for packaging the candies would have shown up fuller than the shards they were. It’s not Amazon’s fault. The package inside is super flimsy and when I read the box it even says something along the lines of the product most likely not making it through shipping to ease the receiving on my end. With times as tight as they are for me, reading that off the package felt more like, “Thanks for your purchase. It’s broken. You’re welcome.” The only other thing that was a surprise to me as a first time buyer is that the box tells you the possible contents, being the flavors and underneath it, they specify that it’s a random assortment in italics. One box of the two pack was all cinnamon. Lets just say I’ll wait to open the other.The candies were nice enough for a festive addition to the day but even they looked less like they did 30 years ago. I guess that’s all things though. If you need something colorful for your table or add to your hot cocoa, these were good for that. I don’t recommend giving them to children though. They were so broken that I couldn’t really use it for anything else than melting.

If you want the candy in one piece find it local somehow, cause this comes shattered, I guess amazon delivery side has no clue should be fragile. ordered 2 of what I didnt realize was a two pack, so I have four boxes of broken candy. I honestly dont know if packing bubbles would have made a difference. In my mind I see the looney toons gorilla beating the suitcases to death.On the positive side, the candy is very good and we will still use it for parties.

I get these every year, especially for my father who grew up on these. They are not the most cost-effective candies and can only be found mostly around Christmas, but it truly is worth the price of having each large piece of ribbon candy that can be broken into many smaller pieces. There’s a variety of flavors and it brings joy to us each year, so if you don’t mind that usually not a single piece will be 100% intact by the time it reaches you and are OK with that, this is still the best Christmas ribbon candy available!
