Solo V2 Audible Blood Glucose Meter Kit and 50ct Test Strips

The shipment came in a timely manner; however, it was not what I had expected. First of all, for $60.00 dollars, I would have expected a case that was a little better than a plastic case reminiscent of those cheap plastic soap dishes with a lid. I told my wife that I would soon be using a rubber band to hold the case shut because the clip that holds it close is just a folding plastic hinge that will eventually break off.Another problem with the case is that there was no place to put the lancets. The case included 10 lancets in a Ziploc type bag, but it was just stuffed under the test unit itself. I had chosen this kit because it included a case. I could have gotten a better deal from another site which included 200 test strips and the tester for $40.00, but I opted to go with this company SOLEY because of the case. What a disappointment! If I had bought the tester, test strips, lancets, lancing device, and test solution, it would have been cheaper elsewhere.My last complaint was the amount of test strips that were sent. The description title clearly states, "50ct Test Strips." When I pulled out the lancets, I joked with my son that they had only sent 10 lancets for 50 test strips; however, the joke was on me when I found that there were only 10 strips in the container! (They cannot feign ignorance, because it states clearly on the packaging that it only contains 10 lancets and 10 test strips.) I had figured that the 50 strips would be okay for now, but now I have to immediately order test strips because this company had been dishonest about there advertising. To tell you the truth, if I had know about that plastic case, it would have been enough to dissuade me from buying the kit; however, knowing that I would only be getting 10 test strips, I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS EN LIEU OF THE OTHER WEBSITE!I chose these people because others had given them good ratings. If this is honesty, this company can save it for the others who like them; for myself, I will not purchase anything else from them again! Buyer beware!

The actual meter is very beneficial to my aging aunt who has impaired vision however when the "kit" came, the first thing it tells you to do is test the meter with a special solution which WAS NOT included - how was I supposed to know to order that? Very frustrating. Also, there were no lancets included which are (as I understand) unique to the lancing device included in the kit. When I called the company selling this product, I was told the solution is no longer included with the kit - but they agreed to send both at no additional cost which would have made it right. I got the solution to test the meter but instead of lancets, they sent another lancing device. Very frustrating…..

Item came with the meter and test strips only. Every thing else was missing. I contacted the seller and the rest was shipped with no directions on how to use the pricking devise.If test your blood with two tested strips in a row, you can get a 30point difference in the readings.Spend a little more and get a higher quality devise.

I have mixed emotions regarding this item. The glucose read-outs seemingly lack continuity. Within a very few minuitesmost of the time there is a significant difference in the read-out. My wife has one exactly like it and between the twothere is a significant difference in the glucose read-out coming from the same individual. However, I do like the verbal feedbackand the accuracy of time,days and the ability to go back for information. I think there may be a malfunction with the glucoseread-outs.

Ive owned a few different meters over the years and this meter is by far the best.This is my first talking meter, its a nice added feature. The meter is easy to setup and use. The lancing device seems a little flimsy when loading the lancet but does the job.The reason for trying this meter is the test strips are so much cheaper than what I used to pay.The Solo V2 website is nice also. Lots of information and free computer software for the meter to send data to computer. A USB cable is required.

This my second order of this device because I gave the first one to a relative. I love this device because there is no coding and it's simple to use and the strip are very reasonable.

Love the large numbers reading and the fact it lets you know when it has turned itself off. The hard protective case is so much better than the cloth ones.
