Fresh Step Odor Shield Clumping Litter With Febreze Freshness, 14 lb. Box

Hands down the best kitty litter ever made. It makes cleaning out the litter box a breeze. You can literally just scoop out the used litter anytime your fur babies use it. It doesn't clump into huge pieces causing, you to waste half the litter. With the fragrance of the litter it keeps the box smelling fresh at all times. I promise if you try this product just one time, you will never go back to using your old brand of litter ever again.

Honestly, I know you're supposed to change the cat litter out every so often, but with this I just scoop and go. I don't even have to bag it; I simply scoop it into the trash. I'm single so I don't generate a lot of trash, so I don't change the kitchen 13g bag out but maybe once a week, and I scoop my single cat's box once per day. At the end of the week, I can start to smell it, but it's an easy disposal after that. I haven't completely changed the box out in a long time because I don't have to. She still carries a little in her paws when she leaves the box, and I have a small rug out to catch as much as I can, so I sweep very little each day around the litter box. Overall, it genuinely keeps the smell down to nothing in the box, clumps about 95% of her litter, and I have to empty the main trash maybe once every 5-7 days.

I switched to this brand of cat litter, because it masks the smell of my cat's litter box effectively. However, it is dusty when I scoop it, which is something I am concerned about since my cat may be breathing in these dust particles when she uses the litter box. Still, this litter does the job it advertises and keeps the smell away.

I've been using Fresh Step for many years. And if you have multiple rescue cats, and you're on a budget...Fresh Step is the best! I've tried other brands, and they never held a candle to Fresh Step. It clumps the entire urine and feces without breaking up, so there are no annoying little pieces to scoop up. It contains the smell of both urine and feces because of the activated carbon in the litter absorbs and traps odors.. It also clumps diarrhea really well if your cat has a tummy issue. It tracks very little, but good litter mat will eliminate tracking litter on the floor. Above all else, my cats like it. When people come over for the first time, they don't know I have a cat until one of my kitties comes out to see who's there. I never have any litter box smells. The only downside is the dust. I bought a small air purifier on Amazon and put it next to the litter boxes. It helps cut the dust in the room down. I would still highly recommend Fresh Step though. I always buy the Odor Shield and the Gain scented one. In my opinion, they are the best with odors. I also buy a Febreze plug in refill for extra measure in the laundry room/cat room, so I have 0 smells. FYI- just because Fresh Step contains odors, doesn't mean you should be lax with cleaning the litter box/ boxes. I clean all mine several times a day. Just think of a porta potty and how nasty they are. It's the same with a dirty litter box. Firstly, thank you to seller and amazon for shipping out kitty litter quickly especially during covid. I work front lines and was strictly home and work and as I have 5 autoimmune conditions and elderly parents one who recently overcame cancer. I didn’t even see them for months and still haven’t, over the fear of a lot of exposure but to date no dx ! anyway, I got a few of these delivered, I have an adult cat and a kitten - I’m allergic to both but whatever. This is the one litter that doesn’t kill my allergies when I scoop or fill the boxes - my husband was hesitant about 1 cat who we then adopted as an adult and he likes her but she’s very to herself. Somehow he let me have a kitten (we also 5 dogs and if I wanted a kangaroo he’d literally let me have that too honestly) as we both weren’t “cat people” and he just hates the smell of litter and how they walk on counters and all of that. Our kitten is a maniac but she was 8 weeks when I got her last month, she wasn’t litter trained apparently but immediately used the box in the car on our way home and forever moving forward. This litter conceals the smell and is easy to scoop without breaking up the waste and making it gross. I love this litter, it doesn’t leave paw prints all over my house or counters or tables, she’s stuck her paw in an African cichlid tank and nothing changed with water levels (idk if it even would but just making note of that lol). It’s also easy to pour. I love the boxes so much - I have C5, c6, c7 disc injuries with chronic pain disorder due to C5 causing nerve pain and c6 has a hairline crack. I work full time and crazy hours so having litter enough for two cats delivered fast to my house really made me appreciate this silly box of litter enough to leave this review.Disclaimer is that I have tried other brands, and this one has always taken the cake. It was hard to litter lately and between working frontlines in NYC covid pandemic, and not wanting to risk the safety of other plus the sheer fear that I have FIVE autoimmune disorders, I was so afraid honestly more about others. So having this be delivered so fast during a global pandemic just made me very grateful. My kitties say that m you!
