Fluctuating Rules, and Sheer Undead Chaos; How Fun!
Zombie Fluxx is a entry in the line of 'Fluxx' card games. It is not an expansion, but a separate game fully playable by itself. What you get:One set of rules. One Fluxx Adand100 Cards divided into several categories:(15) Keepers- Cards that represent positive things, such as friends, gasoline, shotguns, etc. Most Goals require certain Keepers.(15) Creepers- If Keepers are cards you want, Creepers are the ones you don't. They represent Zombies(24) New Rules- The cornerstone of Fluxx. The Rules constantly change with these cards.(23) Actions- Cards that are one time playable and resolved as soon as played.(21) Goals- These cards are placed, one at a time, as victory conditions for the game. They constantly change.(1) Ungoal- This particular card allows for a complete defeat of all players.(1) Basic Rules- The first card to sit on the table. It tells players to Draw one, and play one every turn. All of these lovely cards are contained within a box, in which they lay divided in half.Gameplay:Start with each player getting 3 cards. Draw one, Play one. Easy, right? Well, kinda. Until the new rule cards come out that have you groaning like a zombie as you draw a Zombie Creeper, or drawing four cards at a time instead of one. But enough about the rules, you need to know what the goal is, right? Well the goal changes just as often as the rules. If you thought that an outbreak of Zombies is a thing of chaos, just wait until the ever-changing rules and goals of Zombie Fluxx get you. There is a Flame-Thrower expansion for this deck, as well as Promo packs to help expand your addiction. In conclusion: I recommend Zombie Fluxx for both gamers, and non-gamers alike. We use it as a diversion from more serious games, or as a closer for the night.

Fluxx is at it's heart a very simple game. You don't even need to know how to play to start playing. Every single card tells you how to use itself. You just read the cards. Generally you draw some cards and play some cards. A player wins when they manage to have a combination of a Goal card and some Keeper cards down. The problems and fun come from the rules being in flux, the goal can change, the rules change, keepers come and go, and you have to keep track of all the nonsense. Games last between about 5 and 20 minutes generally. There are many many themed versions.Fluxx is occasionally accused of being too random. Which is fair, it's very random. Fortunately that totally makes sense in a Cthulhu themed version. Lovecraft's universe is an uncaring place where forces beyond your control can snuff you out without a moment's notice, and Cthulhu Flux is a game where far worse than your friend beating you Yog-Sothoth might just burst into our dimension and end the game causing everyone at the table to lose. It's an oddly appropriate merging of a goofy game and a bleak theme. People are slapping Cthulhu onto everything these days, this is one that actually works. For all my talk of randomness it also feels like a more strategic version of the game than Star Flux, the other one I own. There are things to keep track of and it feels like there are more things to do that are useful, and it somehow isn't as subject to the endless Goal cycling that sometimes makes any planning at all impossible. With the Ungoals, where the monsters win, there can even be an almost co-op aspect to it as players try to win while keeping things from getting out of hand and everyone losing.

Awesome Zombie Fun
First, I don't have children. My husband and I wanted to play something fun at home, or have something to take to a family get together. Sometimes it's hard to find clever games for just 2 (or more) people. But this definitely takes the cake. It's pretty easy to learn. It was easier for me because he played it at work. Basically, read the rules, then just play a few hands to get used to it. The rules are written on each card and it keeps changing as you play the game. A game can last just a few minutes to about a half hour from what I can tell.We got version 4.0 and the Zombie Fluxx. They play about the same and I like them both. You can even combine them, or take a few cards from one and mix them with the original deck. The backs are all the same so that they blend together. The Original Fluxx won an award from Mensa in 1997 and I can see why. We played for a couple of hours and laughed and had a great time. You have to think and keep up with the cards that are in play, but it's all on the table in front of you so it's not hard. You'll use your mind, use some strategy and have a lot of fun all at once. There's even a family Fluxx which I think is a bit easier for younger kids.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game for just about anyone. I have already decided to buy a few more decks and give them as gifts.

Great, Fun, and Amazing!
This is a game where the rules change all the time, so you’ll almost never play the same game twice. This version with Cthulhu adds elements where everyone in the table might loose, so you may have to work together. But not too much Cuase someone will get the win. But there’s even an option for everyone to loose, expect you because you are the on Cthulhu side! It may sound complicated but I would definitely look into it, it’s worth playing. It’s almost addictive!

A fun twist on Fluxx
Fluxx is a fun game for groups. My scouts and Venturers discovered Fluxx and we routinely play it on camp outs or other gatherings. The Zombie version adds in some additional rules which ups the randomness (and complexity) of the game play. Fluxx on its own can be a bit on the tougher side to learn at first, and the additional rules from the Zombie version can add to that difficulty, so only 4 stars on easy to learn. But once you get the hang of it, this is an immensely fun game to play with a group of friends.
