Worst customer service and terrible product - Buyer beware!!!!!
I received this as a gift. The magnet was separated from the cup. I contacted the company and they sent a replacement. That cup was also defective. I was instructed to mail both cups back to the company - I had to pay for the postage. They sent two replacement cups that were finally intact. Then I tried to use this and the base does not maintain a charge and even when I keep is plugged in it still does not work. I reached out to the owner again! He was condescending and rude. Here are the emails that he sent to me:February 3: Joel: "You must charge your base in ON position. Not OFF position in accordance with instructions. We guarantee there’s nothing wrong with your base."My response after doing exactly what he said and it still not working: "It's fine. I have given up on this whole thing. It just doesn't work like it is supposed to work and I definitely do not feel comfortable using this as it.I like the concept."Joel: "It definitely works. Have you charged in in the ON position?"Joel's follow up email: "We sell these all around the world. We have maybe received 20 in our entire 4 years selling that didn’t work and had bad plugs needing replacing. I find it very hard to believe you had two bad cups and now also a bad plug."My response: "I understand your frustration and I am sharing the same frustration. It is not my intent to create more work for you or anyone and from your email (difficult to read the tone) it appears that you are saying this is somehow my fault for all that has gone on. I opened the box on Christmas as I had received this as a gift from my brother. The magnet was not attached to the bottom of the cup. You sent a second cup that also was faulty. I paid to send both cups back to you so that you could examine them for yourself. As you found out, it was the glue and not anything that I did. There is no way I could have done anything wrong with either of the cups as they were broken in the box. To speak to the base, I did not use it all until I received the cup that did not have faulty glue. I have attempted to charge it multiple times and it would not hold a charge. Finally, I found a spot that I could keep it plugged in and decided that it was not worth even using. It just looked cool sitting in my office. No matter what I do it does not work for more than 30 minutes and the cup slams down onto the base. I have even tried keeping the magnet blocking plastic pieces there and it still happens. As I said in my last email, I have given up on this entirely. I am writing today to express my frustration that my attempts to reach out to you have felt more like an attack on me that admitting that something could be wrong with your product! That does not feel good at all to me. I am a business owner and was giving you the benefit of the doubt and a chance to remedy a broken product instead of going online and writing a terrible review without reaching out to you.I am bummed that my brother spent nearly $200 on this and I have paid for shipping back to you and it still does not work and I definitely do not want to be accused of anything that could not be my fault with your product. Telling me that it definitely works and the number of units that you have had problems with does not help this situation at all. You have not seen it! I am a bit taken aback that you are absolutely sure that the base must work even though your track record with me specifically is that your products ARE defective. Your customer service skills could use a little work. That is all."Joel: "We are confident the product works and works fine, we believe it is operator error. The glue was a known issue. This base issue we believe is not a warranty issue but if you want to return the device we would be happy to review it and test it ourselves for you."Edit on 3/2: Removal of the warranty address as the owner emailed stating it was his home address. The owner finally provided a refund to my brother for the product only not the shipping costs that I incurred.
