Fine emergency whistle
Bright color to match the life jacket and very loud.They're very shrill and don't have a ball rattling around like a referee whistle, ie they're not fun to listen to. If you gotta do SOS with a whistle, this will DEFINITELY work.

Lifeguard Halloween Costume
My husband and I dressed up as lifeguards for Halloween (and our dog was a shark) and these whistles worked great for us. Unfortunately, the string from one of them broke and I had to tie the ends back together to use it, but I didn't mind. I'm not actually a lifeguard so I can't say how well they would work for that profession but for Halloween, it turned out awesome!

Great whistle for emergency use
I bought these whistles to you use out on the water on a paddleboard. They are extremely loud and do not require much effort for older people with poor lungs. The plastic is a good quality. The whistle performs as advertised.
