This is a really nice kit and includes everything you need (including software) to learn how to build projects with a raspberry pi. The projects include both Python and C code. Hardware wise you get a few different types of displays, a great interface board to connect up to the breadboard, a stepper motor, accelerometer, buttons, LEDs, etc. as well as a few miscellaneous resistors and capacitors. There are also a couple of ICs - including the venerable 555 timer and a shift register that you can use with the LEDs. And, of course, there are a bunch of wires to use with the breadboard.There are plenty of projects shown, and you can easily build on any of them to make something more awesome. It even comes with a little book to help get started.If you have no experience with electronic hardware I would highly recommend this kit with a raspberry pi.I've supplemented it with a few items, so please don't think you can build the mess in the picture just with what's in the kit. However, most items there are from the kit.

This "Super Starter Kit" is everything it claims to be.It is a good way to learn basic GPIO pin control with C programming. Most the components will be useful for your projects later on. Although you can always just piece out the items as you need them, this is a nice kit that was designed for those who don't exactly know what they want or need.Many reviewers claim that the documentation was sparse and not for "beginners" or very "user friendly," but I found the opposite to be true. Along with a pocket-sized manual, the kit comes with a DVD that contains a PDF of the manual, instructions for setting up your Raspberry Pi 2, and all the code files for each project. If you do not want to use a DVD-drive, you can always go to the Sunfounder website and visit their WIKI link to download the zip file.It can be a little daunting to try and use the documents alone, luckily Sunfounder has produced instructional YouTube videos that will walk you through the initial set-up and the first 7 projects. These videos were invaluable to me when I started out and I cannot recommend these videos enough, especially if you are new to raspian and using the terminal command lines.I would also suggest you learn the basics of the VIM text editor before you begin to go through the projects.

Summary:I purchased the the Super Kit because it includes a wide variety of accessories for my sons (ages 13, 11, and 8) to learn to make cool projects using the GPIO on the Raspberry Pi. We are able to do these projects and more:Control LEDsUse an LCD to display a messageControl MotorsUse switches and buttonsPlus many more... The product title is “SunFounder Project Super Starter Kit..” and the description states the Super Kit “provides you tutorials to learn about Raspberry Pi, designed for beginners (also experienced hobbyists).” However, on the Sunfounder website the product is listed only as the Super Kit. Having used this kit for a few days now, it does not feel like a true “starter kit” and neither does the Raspberry Pi. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just something a beginner should be aware of - the manual and website tutorials will provide you the steps but you will need to use other resources to understand the concepts. Raspberry Pi,Linux, and this kit are designed for do-it-yourselfers who don’t mind learning the basics computing and electronics with minimal guidance. For my kids and I, this is a good thing. Anyone can download a file, accept the terms, and hit next 3 times and have a working application or project, but we wanted and got more. Although the code provided is written in C we used Scratch since my boys are younger and have limited programming experience. The C code is just copy and paste from the web download but it is much more difficult to follow if you’re not familiar with programming.The variety of items in the kit combined with the manual and web resources make this kit a worthwhile and fun purchase.

- Positives: Really great kit with a fantastic selection of items you’ll probably use, good price.- Negatives: Slow 2 full weeks to deliver, 40-Pin GPIO Extension Board/breadboard not interchangeable with Canakit’s (their +/- rail holes are between, vs even with inner lines), and I had a couple bent pins (easily bent straight)- Included booklet has excellent description of all the parts, some electronic theory, and 14 really great lessons taking you from blinking LEDs to controlling displays, while learning how to use the GPIOs, PWM & I2C.- Note that you will need a set up and running Raspberry Pi plus some familiarity with Linux/IDLE - anyone can figure this out since the kit, booklet and tutorials are better than most of what’s out there. If you’re a beginner, you’ll need to spend some time at Adafruit Learn to get going.- A CD is no longer included, but excellent learning tutorials, wiring diagrams and example code is all available at Sunfounder dot com, Learn, Raspberry Pi, Super Kit for Raspberry Pihttp://www.sunfounder.com/index.php?c=case_incs&a=case_nr&type=23

This is a great kit for kids or adults learning about electronics and the Raspberry Pi computers. There's a nice assortment of sensors. The documentation has a few grammatical errors (obviously translated); however, it's very thorough and includes code in C and Python. I haven't priced it out, but I bet you would spend twice as much if you tried to build this kit yourself.

So far very good. Good out of the box experience, simple examples all work so far. Software is explained. The only hiccup so far is that the LCD display intensity is very weak, useless. I did adjust the pot on the back of the display, that took if from blank to barely readable.

Purchased for my son and I to start a hobby, didn't get back around to it till over a year later. He came across it after organizing his TV Stand for an upgraded tv for gaming. Didn't even use the tv, got the kit out and started learning on his own over the weekend. Easy to use and understand. He's 13 and no issues with the materials nor instructions.

The contents are well labelled.

I had a Raspberry Pi, but didn't had the necessary tools to learn electronics. This kit is the best for beginners to learn how to use breadboard and connect electronic components to the Pi board and build amazing things.

Ottimo kit, completo in ogni parte. Usato con RB pi3 e funzionata tutto alla grande. È presente anche la comoda scatolina per riporre al meglio i vari componenti. Il manuale in allegato riporta il minimo indispensabile, ma più che sufficiente per chi ha un po' di basi di elettronica ed informatica.

J'ai acheté ce kit lors d'une offre promotionnelle.Très bon kit, avec un tas d'accessoire utile pour s'initier au développement avec le RasPi. Les cables sont de bonnes factures, le guide fournit permet d'apprendre à maitriser les composants fournis de manière ludique. Ce guide est clair & détaillé.Le kit est livré avec une boite en plastique compartimentable, très pratique pour pas tout perdre dans la maison.Je n'ai pas tout testé (par exemple l'afficheur à segment) mais s'ils sont du même niveau que le reste du kit, cela s'annonce très bien.

This is an AWSOME kit. Well Organised Etc. it reminds me of the Radio Shack kits that came with lots of documentation. If you have the Raspberry Pi and your looking for an Electronics kit, I think you'll be more then satisfied with this kit.
