A good tool at a good price!
The FOXWELL BT780 Car Battery Tester is so excellent for the price of $259.99. Full of the most frequently needed/desired features and it's way easy to use. Just hook its gator clips to the vehicle battery black to black, red to red and this unit gives you instructions on its screen step by step to do battery or full system tests. It's fast and it's very accurate! This unit performs like something costing $1000+ from other manufactures...and with its own 9-volt battery installed this unit a little more accurate and capable as its operation does not rely entirely on power from the car battery that it’s supposed to be testing....The cable connector to the unit has a very tight space around it...it’s hard to fasten down the screw cap on the connector because it’s hard to get your fingertips onto it to tighten it in that small space. Also, the first time I printed the data slip it was not legible...I don't know why it did that but I did another print out days later and it came out just fine...If you need a GOOD vehicle battery/system tester this unit will do above and beyond for you, especially at this really nice price for all it does. Need one? BUY IT!!!

Worked Perfectly - High Quality
Worked perfectly. Was easy to conduct the test based on the prompts it gave, and being able to just print the results in a nice. So far very happy.

Not perfect
I didn’t find a way to adjust the date and the time on the menu. So, the reports I printed for my customer look very odd (it shows I did the test last year). The case is not good. Cables don’t fit well in the case. Case supposedly has a cut, so you don’t have to screw and unscrew the cable jack every time that you are using the machine... but the cut is offset,... and it can’t be used to store the machine with the cables on.Screw and unscrew the cable jack is a bit of a pain in the b. Plug is inside of a deep or orifice and the fingers don’t really fit on this small spot.Test is ok. Menu is easy... in exception of date and time options.I tried to clean the printer but it always does a line on the report, which is a bit odd on a brand new device.

Properly functioning
This battery, starting, a d charging system tester is excellent. I purchased it to .ake my life easier when doing an inspection that requires this information. It comes in a nice hard carrying case. I open the case, attach the sufficiently sized alligator clips to the tester body, then attach the clips the the battery being tested. I can test only a battery outsideof a vehicle if I want to. Or I can test the battery in a vehicle, then proceed to start the vehicle in order to test the starter cranking voltage, then once running I can finish by testing the alternator and charging system. Once the tests are complete and the program has run, I can print out a receipt that states whether the battery and subsequent tests have passed or failed. It is all very intuitive and easy to use. Similar to an alignment machine it really walks you through the steps. So, this battery, starting, and charging system tester, is a winner in my book.

Works better than expected
Likes - Midrange cost / Easy ability to update the micro sd card with the provided USB to SD Card Adaptor / Easy to navigate, once you spend a little time loading your shop information and usage with the Tester. /Love the printout feature / Finally used it today on two of my vehicles, Tester was able to provide me current state of my Vehicle Batteries. (Note: I have had a new Battery from a very well known brand, short out on me within 7 months, while I was running erands leaving me stranded) "Stuff Happens"

Meh.....
Its alright. The printer if fragile and broke on first use. The warranty is only 30 days... in other words, they know its brittle. The clamps are pretty nice but the connector requires bird fingers to tighten. Its also hard to enter battery serial numbers. Its good for basic duty but not for a professional.

Excellent investment.
I'm old school all I've ever used was the old carbon pile load testers. With these new AGM batteries, the carbon pile load test is obsolete. This tester is really trick. You can test all newer batteries along with the older batteries. Was also glad I bought the tester with printer.

Slipshod and Untrustworthy
Really wanted this to work. And the basic test results seem pretty accurate. But, too many slipshod elements mean that I won't trust a Foxwell product again, and am returning this one along with the unused OBD2 scanner ordered simultaneously.Start with the basic firmware upgrade process: the USB2.0 mini-SD card reader included with the product had a cover that could not be pulled off the card reader port even with pliers. The USB port cover came off easily enough, but not the card reader port on the other side, making it useless. Had to purchase a mini-SD card reader from a local store in order to upgrade the firmware.Continue with programming a "Store Name" or a "Technician Name" into the machine: a laborious process at best, and getting the machine to store the data that is entered seems impossible. Every time that the machine powers up, the previously entered data has vanished. Poor documentation and poor software suggests a poor product in the long run. This one's going back while I consider TOPDON, Ancel and KONNWEI battery analyzers.
