EXTREME CAUTION ON THIS UNIT -VERY DISAPPOINTED in LG
We purchased this model in fall of 2014 for a small 2 bedroom cottage in Florida and it still works. Based on this, we ordered a 2nd one a year later This review is about a 2nd unit purchased in Dec 2015 and installed Jan 2016 in a converted room that is used less than 10 hours per weekThis one over the past few months has begun to SMOKE, make funny noises and just STOPPED COOLING.We have now had to replace it - WITH ANOTHER BRAND.We did not take the extended warranty, but should not have had to. I bought this unit to replace a malfunctioning unit in an apartment complex setup. Firstly, I have to say I was very satisfied with the product packaging and most importantly nothing was missing that I needed to assemble the unit with. But if you are not tech savvy, you will have a hard time installing this unit. You will have to rely on common sense because the manual will not assist you in any way. Because of that I took away a star for the inconvenience. Other than that, the a/c and heat on it works great. If properly installed this unit should last 5 years.

Good option to gas heaters.
The heat produced is not extremely hot but with two it keeps a small house on piers very comfortable. Haven't seen a light bill yet, so I can't comment on efficiency. Installation just takes patience. Not really hard to do.

Good price. Fairly easy to install. If you need heating as well as cooling, this is a nice unit.

Much like the "STAY AWAY FROM LG" review above. I purchased the unit in the winter and it worked fine. Summer came and the unit would not cool. LG outsourced to a local company that was rude, late and failed to fix the problem over several months. Now it is November and they finally are giving me a refund after hours dealing with several people. Huge hassle for a $400 purchase. LG was OK but the repair company - Heavenly Cool was abysmal.

STAY AWAY FROM LG
I bought this unit in January and used it as a heater until May. When I switched over to AC the unit would not work with the compressor coming on and going off immediately, no cooling. On May 13th I called LG for service and on May 20th a service man checked out the unit and said the compressor was bad. He informed me that he would check with LG as to them sending me a new unit or repairing the existing one. By May 31st, I still hadn't heard back, and finally got info that unit was to be repaired. By June 12th, I still had a broken unit and no appointment set to repair unit. I call LG and after about 30 minutes of being handed off to other people, I was informed that the compressor had been received and was being shipped to the service organization. It is now June 17, I'm hot and haven't heard a word.
