I have some atlas books which are Times, DK,Oxford(leather binding)and Britannica atlas(1988).Of course, The Times atlas has most detailed maps andmany place name(about 200,000).But it is too large and heavy. Also, DK and Oxford.This completely updated atlas is light and compact(thin paper, hard cover, 1195g, 28.3 x 23.0 x 2.3cm, 400pages)but has many useful information and detailed maps for its volume.So, I always going together with this atlas.And, I will present this atlas to my father and friend.The map scales are ;Most of US and some part of canada 1 ; 4,000,000Most of Europe 1 : 4,000,000 but Italy, Greece and Balkans 1 : 4,500,000Caucasus 1 : 4,000,000 Middle East(Israel Iran etc.) 1 : 4,000,000Persian Gulf 1 : 4,000,000 Korea and a part of Japan 1 : 4,000,000Southeast Asia 1 : 8,000,000 Philippines 1 : 5,000,000Most of Africa 1 : 12,000,000 Most of South America 1 : 10,000,000A Part of Australia 1 : 8,000,000 New Zealand : 1 : 6,000,000And many many city maps 1 : 1,000,000But, the atlas needs to update Express way in South Korea.

I used this book during college geography class. It was filled with pictures and informative information relating to the world map. The book came in great condition.

Due to the somewhat high price, a lot of other atlases might be a better value. But over the years I've grown fond of the aesthetics and features of Goode's world atlases.Goode's is packed with lots of specialty world maps and information such as population, religions, climate, ocean currents, agriculture, mining, etc. I love that a lot of the major world cities have their own little city map (a tiny city map is better than none at all). However, most are found together on dedicated city map pages - I would much prefer to see the city maps on the same page as the country they are located, if possible. I am dismayed that there aren't any indications on the maps that show what page to find the continuation of the map in that particular direction.I like that this paperback version is printed on thinner, lighter, and less glossy paper than my old Goodes from the late 1970s...just my preference. Some might prefer heavier and glossier pages.

Christmas gift 🎁💕💖❤for my roommate. She loves it! She spends most of the day just sitting and leafing through the book. When we watch movies we are always wondering where is this place? Now we can look it up and find out. Sturdy hardcover design will last for years.

Literally, just a book of maps (duh). No text to explain anything, except for the labels to the countries.For $40 it was a little bit pricey, but I needed this exact edition for my college class. I wish it was cheaper because the graphics and colors of the actual map is very standard/basic. The layout of the book is very basic as well because it seems like any other 'cheaper' atlas. The words are very small for some countries, but everything is labeled. In conclusion, this atlas is pretty mediocre.....If you don't need this -exact- atlas, I would invest in another one.Not a whole lot of resale value, for my school at least because we need the mygeographylab code. Oh well!

Very comprehensive and easy to use! It covers all the maps and information that you would expect in a world atlas, with a large enough format to keep it readable. It will even stay open on its own when laid flat. One additional plus is that the larger maps aren't squeezed into the crease, but if the map extends across 2 pages, they left narrow, white borders that allow the entire map to show. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase!

Very glad we bought this Atlas. Hundreds of high-resolution maps of the world, political and geographical, but small enough for us to place on our knees without feeling as if an elephant were in our laps! And so inexpensive compared to the others we reviewed. Can't believe they were able to go so much information into an Atlas this size for this price. Highly recommend this for students or anyone who is looking for an Atlas of the world.
