They sound amazeballs!
Did a lot of research for an AV receiver and speakers to match my new Vizio P series smart TV. I was going to go with the Klipsch Reference Black 5.1 set up and then I stumbled across these. I had already set my sights on this Pioneer receiver so why not go all the way Pioneer. I had a Pioneer cassette deck with TriAxial 6x9” speakers in the rear and 5” coaxials in the doors of my Opel in 1973. And a quadraphonic system. They rocked. These will blow the windows out. Watching The Fifth Element at about 60% scares the bejeesus out of you. My classic rock collection sounds amazing too. ZZ Top sounds like they’re standing in your living room jamming. Close your eyes and be transported to another dimension. They are heavy, solid, well made. Some reviews knock the aesthetics but personally I like low key non flashy look. I used the 16 gauge wire from KableDirekt and the Small VideoSecu speaker stands for the rear speakers. Very happy.

Great Speakers
Excellent speakers for the price. A bit on the larger side but we get compliments on the stylistic look of these. Matched these speakers with the Sony Str Dn1080 receiver and the sound is great!

This is a great speaker set up
This is a great speaker set up. I use the system for movies, games, music, and television. The bass has an awesome rumble and the center speaker will shine (especially in situations like watching Lord of the Rings, etc with the crazy dialogue sound adjustments with lower speech levels). For video games it will make everything sound better, particularly with action oriented games. I used this system with several games and it didn't disappoint. It sounds really good with music as well (classical, jazz, rock, pop). Its open and airy, but also still has a good bass thump. I did have a slightly issue with the subwoofer overheating, but it seemed to resolve itself (so I would and do unplug it in between long uses).

No bass nor crispness whatsoever, and INEFFICIENT.
Background: 60 year old audiophile and electronics senior field engineer. I played a great variety of music from CDs including Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Vivaldi's 4 Seasons, Foreigner, Stryper, and a variety of radio stations. The speakers are the only change that was made to a mid-priced surround sound system located in a 20x27' man-cave. They were supposed to replace some very old Polk Audio bookshelf speakers and an Infinity RS-6001.1) No bass response: I'm not talking about shaking the room or anything, there is no meat or substance to the bass. Almost like a built in crossover eliminated it. Receiver settings were triple checked and bass level turned up to maximum. It was noticeable in constant low tones, like low notes of a pipe organ. But it was hideous in transitions, like drum solos or the canons used in the 1812 Overture. I got visions of my 1960 radio (mono) in the lack of crispness.2) That lack of crispness crosses the entire audible range from the tinkling of a tiny bell to a bass drum (or canon). It disguises the sound with what I refer to as "muddiness". While all "ported" speakers suffer somewhat from this, it is the worst case of it I have heard.3) Now to the speakers' credit: mid to higher level horns sound great! Stringed instruments sound very good, except for any plucking, strumming, or the beginning or end of the movement of a bow across them.4) Inefficient: Compared to my previous speakers, these need at least twice the power. And why on earth would you upgrade your amplifier(s) just for these speakers that are an extreme disappointment?5) Summary: I learned not to buy ported speakers, ever again. I learned that despite high Amazon reviews, never buy speakers that haven't been listened to in-person, ever again. I was reminded that size matters a lot when it comes to bass response, that despite tone-deaf reviews, these just don't have it.6) Fast forward: I will sell these 2-week old speakers for ~30% off in Dayton, OH Look for Bruce Whittaker on facebook (profile pic is carrying daughter on my shoulders). I think I will visit Dayton Audio and have a custom set up built, at least for the bass.
