FurReal Friends StarLily, My Magical Unicorn (Amazon Certified Packaging)

This is the only thing my daughter wanted for her birthday. The only thing she talked about and hinted at for 6 months !! All the way up until the day we gave it to her it was all she could think about, she wanted nothing else and all the other gifts she was blessed with paled in comparison to her ! Boy was she lit up like a Christmas tree when she opened this package !! The reason this gets five stars is that it made her the happiest girl on her birthday, plain and simple. Star Lily is cute, super soft to the touch although not too cuddly because she is, after all a robotic doll. Although she doesn't talk she makes plenty of cute sounds and her horn lights up different colors, she bats her eyelashes and opens and closes her eyes are well as moves her head around. My daughter got to play the game on the app and it kept her busy for at least 2 hours at a time ! She is still fairly captivated by this toy even 2 weeks later which says a lot because being 8 now she moves on to the next plaything pretty quick sometimes. I have seen her playing with the doll, talking to her and including her in other playtime activities. I really like that the more you play with her, the more she will respond and do. The song Star Lily "sings" is super cute ! Overall, I would get this again if only to make my little girl happy ! Because she is pleased with it, I am glad I got it. I would have like it better if she came with batteries, especially for the price paid ! So, beware, if you are purchasing, you will need to get your own batteries. It would have been double sweet if she walked, price paid and all. I am not sure how young I would recommend this toy for, it would depend on how responsible your child is and how well they handle their toys, only you would know that. But the wings could get damaged if the child isn't very gentle.

When I first saw StarLily, I knew right away that I wanted to play with her...er, my daughters would surely love to play with her ;) I couldn't believe how much personality she seemed to have just by watching the videos online. Finally she was given as a gift to my youngest for her 6th birthday. She was an instant hit!!! Her sisters (ages 9,10 and 11) are still fighting over it too :) No disappointment whatsoever. Connection instantly worked out to the kids' iPad minis, and took about 10 seconds initially and even less later on. I think it's interactive enough and definitely developing "new" sound effects and movements as the time goes by. We love her!!! Gorgeous too and I can't get over the mobility, very realistic looking to the point of kinda cutely-freaky sometimes!! Quite frankly I don't understand the negative reviews, granted it was not a cheap present but StarLily is huge, and my girl won't put it down for a moment since she received it. It was very worth it. I would love if the app had more to offer, but it was not made for older kids and adults, and for this younger kid age group it's cute and perfect as is! Just superb. Thank you FurReal! When I was a kid I only dreamt of such magical toys like these, 30 years later now it's reality!

The one thing my daughter wanted for Christmas was StarLily. She has so many FurReal friends that she rarely plays with so I was hesitant to spend $100 on a new one that would just retire to the shelf after a day. But I went ahead and got it with very low expectations. However this is a really, really cute toy. I could see after my daughter playing with it for just a few minutes why it's a little higher priced than other FurReal friends. Her legs, eyes and head move around and she responds to your voice. Her wings also flutter and that cute unicorn horn lights up a rainbow of different colors.I will recommend that you download the free app that goes along with StarLily, it just makes playing with her so much better. You child is able to play games that involve StarLily and make her respond and do things based on her response. So far after a week my daughter is still playing with StarLily and I think she will continue to because StarLily does different things each time.My recommendation: Great toy for Girls ages 5-9

Daughter loves it but wishes it actually walked. I worry about the durability and think it goes into sleep mode rather fast. Glad I didn't have to pay any more for it. I got it for 1/2 price and that's all I'd say it's worth. It is beautiful and the fur and main body seem great quality. The neck is what I worry most about. It seems loose when in off mode. We haven't done much on the app but seems simple enough for my 4 year old. All in all a great toy but not one I see her playing with much after the newness wears off. It just doesn't do enough to hold her attention long.

Unlike the other reviews thus far, I actually bought our Star Lily. Actually, I bought 2 (for 7 & 9 girls). I preordered them on Amazon, and they arrived as promised on my daughter's 9th birthday! I knew she'd be a perfect surprise for her unicorn party, so she opened it first. I can't even describe their excitement - it was like Christmas morning! She is absolutely beautiful with her colorful hair, light up horn, and big expressive eyes. The best part? She DANCES to music! We put our cell phone on the table between them and they both danced to the music! They don't actually walk, but one leg and their bodies, wings, heads, and eyes all move. She makes adorable munching sounds when you feed her the "berry" - and you'll know she's hungry when her horn is green. She responds to all of your touches on several sensory locations. My very spoiled daughter opened many gifts yesterday, but Star Lily was by her side the entire day and night, and definitely what she played with the most. Both daughters said "Best present EVER!". I think I paid $119 each, and I can say they are worth every penny. Even their daddy approves!
