Replaced an old oil filled electric unit for my outdoor office as it took ages to heat the roomLooks - very slick with the frosted glass and the large display on top right of the panelInstallation - comes with screws and brackets for wall mounting which is just a couple of simple measurements to hang - it weighs very little so will safely hang on a plasterboard wall (also has feet to be floor standing if desired)Setup - powered on and left for a minute to allow it to boot up, opened the SmartLife app on my phone and it was immediately detected as a new device and I was asked to add - a button press later and it was done - simple and easy - the app pushed the device into Alexa and it also appeared there as well (limited to on and off)Performance - unlike my oil heater which took ages to heat up this brought my 3mx4m office from 18 to 22 in less that 10 minutes before is stopped.Control - you can control from the front panel, little remote, the app or Alexa - from what I can see all the same controls are there for all except Alexa which seems to be just basic on/off (to be explored) - set temp, comfort, eco (half power) and timer are availableI ordered the 2500w unit but feel I will only use full power to bring the room up to temp and then set to maintain for the rest of the dayAfter just an hour I’m very impressed, it looks smart, was easy to hang, smart features are basic but all the features you need are present and it really puts out some heatOne note of caution - the glass panel does get hot so you’ll want to be careful around small peopleGreat bit of kit and pleased with my purchase - can turn the heating on whilst brushing my teeth so the office is toasty before I get there in the morningEdit - I stand corrected on Alexa - you have switch on/off, set the mode and temperature - so almost party with the front panel and remote control

MY REVIEW: OWNED 2x DEVLO SMART RADS for 2 YEARSI have 2 of these in my house and they are excellent. I've had them for over 2 years so I can confirm they work and are reliable. I noticed people in reviews complaining about wifi issues and scheduling. I can only say they are not using the product correctly or they have a defective one.First of all they heat my bedrooms easily, the setup is simple, I've changed my wifi passwords and had to reset them to use the new SSID on several occasions and never had an issue.I often like to go upstairs and read in the bedroom, I say Alexa heater on and the Alexa on my bedside table turns on the radiator. I can also say "Alexa turn on heater for 20 minutes and she will schedule it to be on for 20 minutes." I can say "Alexa turn off heater in 15 minutes" and guess what it turns off after 15 minutes. You can also say "Alexa set heater temperature to 18" and she will set the temp to turn on at 18c" From my lounge I can even say "Alexa whats the heater temperature" and shes responds with "The heater temperature is 14 degrees." This is easily done from Alexa, and makes it very easy to do from any where or using the app on your phone. If you have Alexa.I DON'T HAVE ALEXA?If you don't have alexa its not a problem install the smart app instead on your phone "Smart Life", which allows me to add in schedules to turn on and off, or set temperatures, easily. You can even get creative and make up routines, for automation on events but that's over the top for this review.Lastly why not just press the on off button and set temp from the display, or even from the remote control.ISSUES and RESOLUTIONOne thing that seems to catch most people is smart devices do not like 5ghz wifi. This is probably where most people fail to get the device to work. I recommend logging in to your router, mines Vodaphone was previously virgin, turn off 5ghz then configure your smart device. once connected to 2.4ghz you can turn the 5ghz back on the router again. Alternatively, you could set up a wifi2 or guest option on 2.4ghz only, however, this means if your phone is not on the same wifi access point as the device you won't be able to control it. This is not a limitation of the radiator but affects most smart devices these days as they use cheaper wifi chips that only work on 2.4ghz.NON TECHY PEOPLE:My Mum actually gave me her one as she didn't have a phone to turn it on and off, and didn't like asking Alexa either, so used the remote. After a year she said she prefers radiators with a timer on them so she didn't have to fiddle with it. If you are not into smart devices this might not be for you.TLDR:In summary this radiator has everything available in black, white and grey, manual controls, remote controls, phone app, and alexa smart control. you can set schedules, and temperatures and turn on and off remotely. It's reliable, looks are ok, the only bad thing is the LED is quite bright however you can turn it off but tbh I don't dislike it in my use case. If your not into smart devices go simple with a radiator and built in timer.

I bought this heater because I needed to control my heating from work, as I work shifts and it looks great, very modern. I took delivery of it and tried to get it to connect to my wifi but could not for the life of me get it to work. The instructions are not very clear and made it very difficult to set up. I’m not an idiot as I have numerous systems at home that run off wifi so I know what to do but this had me stumped.I boxed it up and made a request to send it back. It sat there over Christmas and last week I thought I’d give it another go, but this time I went on YouTube and found a video of how to set it up and BINGO!! It works!!It’s very easy to work from the panel on the heater and similar on the app. I bought the 500W one as it’s only for my hallway and after mounting it on the wall it not only looks good but it heats the hall brilliantly and all from my phone. Only a couple of niggles I have:-1: the display will not turn off when the heater is on, so if you have it in your bedroom at night then the display will light up the room2: you can set a schedule to turn the heater on but you cannot set it to turn off from the app.It looks very cool with its white glass panel and a thermostat telling you the temperature of the room. It’s also very light and good build quality too. The remote control adds another control feature making it even easier to use.All in all, a great heater and very easy to use.
