Useless on an iPhone 7
Both the Geiger Meter and the EM Checker would work on an iPhone 5c and an iPhone SE, at least for a while. Then only the 5c would work with both as the SE only was usable with the Geiger. An iPhone 7 does not work with these devices. I am open to suggestions. Should Impick up a cheap iPhone 5c for just this job, or is there any good advice on an Android?

Avoid
Very insensitive. My 1950s geiger counter shows a background count of 10/20 counts per minute. This shows nothing! I have several slightly radioactive items in my workshop, all of which register on the old device, but this doesn't detect them at all.

Good idea.but it didn't work
This is a good idea ,having a house hold Geiger counter.testing various foods and items. I ordered one and yes it did pick up radiation from a banana -potassium in banana's is rad active called k20.after one test it froze a lot,not even picking up radiation from smoke detector .waste of money, sending it back.

Genial
Hoy mismo he probado una lámpara de rayos X, y marcaba la radiación a la perfección, tal y como aparecía en mis cálculos.

Very Insensitive
Ludicrously insensitive. Not surprisingly for such a small device it doesn't pick up many counts. I have compared its performance with a proper Geiger Muller device and for normal safe levels of radiation it would take days to give statistically significant readings. If this device starts giving reasonable count rates then I'd advise you to get well away from what you are measuring!
