Fire in the Heart: Healers, Sages, and Mystics Paperback – January 1, 1991

This is easily one of the best books I've read among hundreds on spirituality, along with the other two books in Markides' account of 'Daskalos,' (Stylianos Atteshlis). The Magus of Strovolos, and Homage to the Sun preceded this book, but any one of the three gives a basic understanding of Daskalos' clairvoyant viewpoint on life. Of Daskalos' genuineness there can be no doubt, from an unbiased scientific standpoint; his cures of medically hopeless cases is reputably documented. One of the most spiritually inspiring (as well as alarming!) topics I found discussed in the books, among very many, is the subject of 'elementals.' It should be required reading for everyone born on this earth, to give some perspective on the hidden and unsuspected power of our thoughts and desires and emotions.

This book is one of the many that Kyriako's wrote, the first book is about the teacher Atteshlis I actually met The Magus of Strovolos a few day before the Cyprus Coup and the invasion of Cyprus by the Turks in 1974 we were on holiday with my family and I saw him heal my younger cousin who was only 18 months old I was 14 at the time. He had never met her ever as she was from South Africa and he told us she had 5 clots on her brain and he dissolved the 3 and she was left with minimal damages and today she lives a normal life (the doctors could not understand how this happened and said it was a miracle). That was the reason why my mother had brought her on holiday with us to see her grandmother as the doctors had mentioned that she could die due to her problem, we the kids did not know about this and we found out from Atteshlis who was a very close friend of my Aunties. After this I read more and more about these happening and after reading these books my outlook to life has changed drastically.

Been looking for and wanting this one for a long, long time. Had finally pulled trigger and gotten it off amazon from a second hand seller. Book is hardcover edition which is always preferable and came in grt condition. Markides and Daskalos both individually are of great interest to me. First discovered Daskalos like most, through these works by Markides. This is the only book I've yet to read out of the trilogy of books written about Daskalos.

Markides is back at it following Daskalos and Kostas, working to learn more about these modern day healers and magicians. Well-paced, interesting, much information about the mystics, Cyprus, etc. Not all that much about Fire in the Heart. But, well worth reading. Not quite a five star.

Most important book I have ever read. If you are someone who seriously wonders and question big life themes, you will find no better than the information Kyriacos has shared from Kostas and Daskalos who are truly wise men. I have read and re-read over years as some of the info I found hard to grasp at first. Wonderful, wonderful book. I can't say enough.

For those who seek Truth and earnestly desire to deepen their wisdom around supraconsciousnes and dimensions beyond three-dimensional gross matter, this is a must read. God is love-- a divine concept understood by the sages, mystics, shaman and religious who have transcended the limitations of knowledge and exist in the "knowing" realm.

Loved it! This is one of the few books that has changed everything for me (In a good way). It will change your life and help you grow spiritually if you read it with an open heart and apply the wisdom to your own life. The other two books in the series are also fantastic. God Bless.

I love this author's rendition of his experience with Erevna and with the healers and mystics in Cyprus. I first began reading as I have someone in my home with chronic back pain and I wondered if this sort of healing were possible. I can not say if it is or not. It has been a revelation how the Greek thinking on the Christian story make so much sense. How it has aspects in common with other belief systems. I still know nothing but feel better about what I do not know. Will read more.
