Perfect for the job!
This processor completes my various needs. I have smaller processors and I have the larger processors. I needed to one in the middle to complete my needs, and this one is perfect! I was planning to make a simple, sugar free apricot spread using dried apricots and water. My 3 cup processor was too small, and the next in line was my 8 cup processor, that was too big. Enter this 'made-to-order' 5 cup KitchenAid processor. Worked like a champ! Easy to assemble, use, clean, and affordably priced. The unit is also lightweight has a handle that allows me to carry it with one hand. It turned the stewed apricots into a wonderful spread in well under a minute! KitchenAid does not disappoint!!

Perfect size
This food processor is the perfect size for chopping garlic and basil, etc. and for making sauces. I have a large food processor ... but it works best when your doing something for the 3rd Army.I like Kitchen Aid products because they last a long time ... and they get the details right. Like on this food processor- the cord wraps around, and tucks into , an indentation in the base. Really simple to clean too. Highly recommend it.

Mighty chopper!
I’m sad I didn’t get this earlier! It makes life so much easier! It’s powerful enough to chop up toasted cashews and purée onions. It makes great chimichurri too. It does have issues making a smooth paste tho I haven’t tried making hummus with it yet. However, it’s great for apartment living and is small enough so it doesn’t take up too much room. It also has the ability to wrap the cord around the machine so no cord chaos either. The only problem I would mention is that the cord itself isn’t too long. It’s maybe 2-3 feet long and I wish I had an extra 6 inches.Update: After using it for several months, I’m still glad I bought this. I made hummus and it was amazing! Also made a cashew “milk” with it and worked! Adding enough water and blending it for longer than you think, it came out pretty damn smooth.

Opening lid instruction incomplete but it works well
I’d rate it five stars but their instructions for opening the lid in the owner manual are incomplete and frustrate many new users. See my photos and instructions below that show you how to open it. My first photo shows you the poor instruction at item 1, with a tiny illustration that’s incomplete and partly covered. The Chopper arrives with the lid firmly held in place for shipping with a white plastic foam spacer. The lid is held by friction fit under the pulse button. The first time you open it, it’ll be slightly harder because of the foam spacer. Grip the top edges of the lid at the pulse button and move it counterclockwise to open it. You’ll feel it let go of the friction grip. Now, throw away that foam spacer. Now when I open it, I use my left hand to help twist the lid and my right hand at the friction button, as seen in my photos. After you’ve done this once, you’ll know how. Here’s why I like the Food Chopper. I wanted something that’s small and can make purees and sorbet and similar things, like pesto or guacamole. Last night I quickly created strawberry sorbet. I first removed the whisking disc, then added frozen strawberries and pulsed them until they were strawberry ice. Next I added a few tablespoons of yoghurt, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of agave syrup. I blended this until it was smooth. Then I removed the blade by gripping the top of the center post and pulling it out. We spooned the sorbet to top our pie slices right out of the blender container, which lifts off of the Food Chopper.I bought this because I have a Vitamix, and it’ll make sorbets like this, but you can’t get all of the blend out of the bottom because the blender is deep and you can’t remove the blade. I’m glad to have the Food Chopper as a very useful cooking tool. It’s also easy to clean because you can remove the center post and blade.

Works well!
It is easy to keep out on the counter, if you need to. Doesn’t take up much space and the concealed cord is also very nice. Chops and purée small amounts well. I highly recommend. Listen for the “ click” wen assembling the bowl and lid.

Convenient Food Chopper 5 Stars
This chopper is convenient to use and has great features that I like for cleaning:1. the 3ft cord is cylindrical two-pronged (easier to wipe down than a flat cord)2. Dishwasher-safe bowl, blade and accessories, easy to take-apart too.also:1. the chopper is not large and doesn't take up counter space. Same for storage.2. the drizzler on the top is a very thoughtful feature. Pour liquids into the bowl without removing the lid!3. The motor is not super loud. It's not silent by any means, but definitely not overwhelming.4. the 5 cup bowl size is just right.I have used the chopper, which is does so much more than chop! It whips, mixes, purees, stirs! I like homemade guacamole, and it's easy with this unit! Avocados, onion, garlic, tomotoes, olive oil, cilantro, so easily chops up the tomato, onion & garlic (fast), avocado (blink and it's done), using the dripper to add the oil. What I had to learn:1. the lid on/off took a minute to learn for me. Once I learned how to rotate the lid, it was easy.2. Also, turning it on/off took a minute for me to figure out. Again, could be the operator.
