I have a dehydrator that wasn't getting much use because of the tedious prep work. I started looking for a mandoline which lead me to this purchase. The blade is extremely sharp so everything is sliding through like butter. Changing blades is simple. I have sliced everything from tomatoes to potatoes, onions and fruit without issue. Dehydrating is much easier with uniform slices. I prefer the 1.5 blade for dehydrating onions. They are paper thin and easy to grind up into powder when dried. I used the thicker slices for fruit and au gratin potatoes. Since it doesn't have a catch cup, I just put a piece of wax paper underneath while I am slicing -easy clean up. I did have small pieces left over in the cap but just used a knife to finish without waste. The julienne blades are just as easy to use. I can now make hash browns in no time. Be sure to soak the julienne potatoes for a few minutes then squeeze as much water out as you can before cooking.I had some issues with the grater blade. Harder cheeses weren't as much of a problem as softer cheese. I had to put the mozzarella block in the freezer to try and get a better grate but still had issues with it clumping and blocking the holes. I ended up just using smaller julienne blade to finish up. I don't know if I will use the grater blade in the future.Overall, I am quite pleased. This is a great accessory to have for quick prep if you don't have the space for a food processor. The bonus gloves definitely saved my knuckles when I tried to slice the small pices in the cup. I did receive discount in exchange for an honest review.

I bought this for my mom who loves to cook but has bad eye sight/ cataracts. So being a worrisome daughter I bought her this slicer. Size wise it's pretty large compared to ones I have seen before, the metal seems solid and durable as well as the keg stand that fold out. The part that you slide up and down to cut the vegetables looks like a rounded black handle it is not attached to the actual mandolin. I thought it made it a little difficult to get it on there just right. There are also large nail like parts on the backside of the handle that come out to hold the veggie in place. Overall it seemed to cut veggies well just need to get a hang of the handle part and aligning it right.

The "V" blade isn't as smooth as a straight blade. Food gets stuck at the tip. It's also very very difficult to get food out of all the cracks and crevices.

the blades are RAZOR SHARP, which is good. But the unit that came to me did not work well because the triangle tip in the edge is sort of protruding out, even when the piece is locked in fine! So... I had to return it because it does not work for me, and I wasn't sure that a replacement unit would be any better as it looked like a design issue to me. I ended up replacing it with a product from another brand instead.

Very Nice, but no directions came with it... I cut the end of my finger off!!!

Great slicer! The option of different size slices and dicing is great for all the cooking I do. The blades are sharp and the clean up is quick and easy. The storage is great for the blades as it's easy to reach in and get the blade you need and switch to a different one! Well made and great price!

Slices are a bit thinner than i would have hoped for, but overall works very well. Blade seems to be very sharp and I've had no issues cutting a variety of veggies! Also very easy to wash!

I just used this for the first time....the plus is that I finally get the thin slices that I wanted....the HUGE minus..one of the blades broke off immediately.. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
