Flush lid nice shape sturdy
The lid fits flush which I was worried about cause we've had fruit flies before and it doesnt seem to attract them after 5 weeks of use. Doesn't smell when the lids closed. Looks great, matches the appliances. Its easy to clean theres no fussy bits. Compost bag edge is hidden by the lid frame. Lid comes off and can then be separated from the frame..not sure it's meant to be removed by bending right back until it snaps off but that how I've been doing it and it seems fine, it snaps back on securely so really sturdy...I would check the instructions on that first though in case its just luck that it hasnt broken! It gets emptied probably twice a week, only starts getting wet inside if there's packet salad as that stuff rots quickly, but peelings and fruit seems fine. Can go on the counter but I keep it on the floor next to the bin so people remember put food in there instead of the bin! It's shiny, slick and ergonomic I love it..sad but these things make me happy 😊

Good Caddy
Perfect size, perfect design with an easy to lift lid than is heavy enough to both close shut and stay upright whilst you put things in.Edited:I've knocked a star off my initial review, as after using the caddy for a few weeks and during the very hot spell of weather, I found that I had an infestation of hundreds, maybe thousands of fruit flies, who had somehow managed to get into the caddy. I do not know how they get in, as on inspection of the caddy it seems that there are no holes or grooves that they could get in, but get in they still do! I also make very sure that when I place items into the caddy that no fruit flies are around, so that they can get into the caddy and breed, hence the swarm that comes out everytime I now open it. I wash it, use clean bags in it etc. So, although I think this is a good design, possibly better than others, not sure, fruit flies seem to be like slugs, they seem to be able to make themselves paper thin and get into the slightest of cracks. Again, I have no idea how they are getting into my caddy.

Smaller size compost bin is big enough!
We've been without one for a while now, not sure why.So, getting the right size to sit on the kitchen counter was most important as we like minimalist and mostly unoccupied space if possible. It arrived the very next day with Prime, well packed.Item is full grey coloured plastic, sturdy body, detachable lid and a handle that swings both ways. It's breakable for sure, but which food bin caddy isn't?!We put green decomposing bags in as shown on photo to avoid constant wash of the caddy. That said, food will smell onto the plastic, so after every use, we clean it out with antibacterial wipes.Green bag will be loose and thus make it harder to make it not collapse into caddy when food remains added. So, to avoid this happening, we remove the lid, stretch the green bag around before putting the lid back in, and with that securing the bag in the lid clip.It is so easy to use, cleans out well, doesn't smell, seals perfectly, is also stable, sturdy, compact, and of course of a light weight. It's without a doubt a value for money, and I'd recommend a small family to buy this if they don't have a big amount of food waste on a daily basis.

Smart looking and easy to keep clean
It may sound sad to get excited about (Okay, not actually excited, but very pleased with) a kitchen caddy food compost bin but this has been a very welcome purchase. The local council provided all the households with a free caddy some years ago and it was okay. But …. it was really awkward to hold the lining bag in place so it kept falling into the caddy leaving horrible bits of waste food hiding under the lining and there was something about the plastic that made it hard to clean. This bin is far superior. It looks smart, the rim attaching the lid also holds the bag in place and the very smooth plastic surface is easy to keep clean. Do yourself a favour, lose the cheap and nasty council version and improve the quality of your life with a decent kitchen caddy.

Perfect
I got the small size which is perfect for a single person as it’s rather small. Doesn’t take up much counter space. It is made from Good quality materials and looks cute tucked away in the corner on my worktop. Can be used with or without liners. Thus far no nasty smells leaching out, but it is winter so can’t comment on how well it would keep smells in, in the summerThe lid fits well with or without the linerNot too cheap but good quality so I’m happy.

Nice smaller food composting caddy
My local council has recently gone to a composting schedule for food waste and delivered large and small food waste bins. The small one is about twice the size of this and just to big for my needs. I'm better putting food waste out more often. Amazon advise you should think about the size of the caddies but for a small family, the smaller one is definitely good. Nice quality, easy to keep clean and easy to close.
