I love the new design. I had one of the older ones, and it lasted for 6 years before the lid finally broke. So I decided to purchase a new one, and when it came, I noticed a few new changes. I like the hinge change; it looks stronger and more durable, and I like the way it locks. Makes for easier opening, closing, and locking.

These are the best lunchboxes! I was looking for something sturdy that’s wasn’t plastic, and an attached lid that cannot be lost. The hinges are strong and I love that it’s stainless steel. We have three of them and all work great! They get easier to open over time. I would say a child about age 6 can start t learn to open and close them and by age 7 the child will know how for sure. Remind them to completely close the lunchbox before putting it in the lunch bag or the contents will spill out all over the bag.

Love that its made of stainless steel. Its super sturdy and well made. However there can be room for improvement. I wish the back hinge was attached to make closing easier for the kids. Because the hinge is loose and detached my 5yo had a hard time closing the lunchbox without getting it stuck (as i did, too). Felt it was too heavy. If the hinge wasn’t an issue i would have kept the product, but unfortunately i will be returning and finding something thats easier for my chikd to open/close.

I read the reviews from other purchasers, and I was worried about the hinges/clasps but figured I'd give this shot (because for some reason I thought it would turn out better for me, lol ok). I love the stainless steel, I love the size of the compartments and the little silicone cup (I'm a sucker for the little features). Its pretty slim which is also really nice to slide into a backpack and tbh my son thought it looked like a fun little laptop. Whatever gets you through the day, ya know?I bought two of these so my kids wouldn't be endlessly fighting over them; one of them is fine, but the other had clasps popping open on its maiden voyage. Before I even put food in it! I thought maybe it needed time to stretch out its little jonts and hinges and used it for a short car trip. Wrong! the clasps never closed completely, and they still don't.The clasps click and close on the top, vs other bentgo containers where they click shut on the bottom. Those feel really secure and you can hear the "click" to know they're fully closed and airtight. These just kind of slide into place without much of a click - it honestly surprises me that the closing mechanism feels a bit faulty and poorly made for something that otherwise feels really solid. The plastic the clasps are made with honestly feel cheap and like a total afterthought.I know little tiny hands need to be able to open these but the clasps slide on and then just slip right back off 75% of the time I close it, and I'm only 4 days into owning it. And even though closes pretty decently without the clasps, I'm not spending fifty dollars (!) for something which carries the risk of a child haphazardly throwing it in after lunch, with all the stuff he told me he ate, but didn't really, and then the whole backpack is covered in strawberry juice and smeared peanut butter at the end of a long day. I need things to make my life easier, not things that make me swear more. Supes grateful for free returns. byeeeeeee!

They are good for school. Stainless steel is easy to clean and odorless, however the silicone lid harvests black mold easily and it is hard to remove

Excellent seal so your food doesn’t leak or make other dry foods soggy. Great alternative to plastic!

Wonderful company and incredible products. My kid loves his bentgo backpack, lunchbox, ice packs and everything bentgo related. I’ve been having this lunchbox since my son turned 6 months and now he is 3 years old and we are still using it. We had a little problem with it at the beginning but the amazing customer service provided us with a new one and we can’t be more happier and grateful. Buying bentgo products.PS. Generally it’s fine but the color on the top shreds in the dishwasher- I ONLY have ever put it on the top rack and it claims it’s dishwasher safe, but pieces of plastic are all over in my sons lunch box and peeling off the top. Only buy for hand washing
