If suitable, by NO Other. Life-Saving Feature! Cisco over-delivers!
Amazon Shoppers,If you need an unmanaged switch, spend for this switch. This switch has LOOP Detection and it is ESSENTIAL. Here's why.We had terrible internet with Xinity for quite some while...multiple tech visits, phone calls, endless hassle...Our prior switch was fine, but just to rule everything out, I bought this switch -- not even knowing it had Loop Detection or what that was.Anyway, as soon as I plugged this in, and made all the connections, the port with the Xfinity Gateway/Router began to FLASH an Amber light.....and this means there is a loop.Cisco Support (Lorenzo) wasn't just good. He was relentless with helping me trouble-shoot this issue. Ultimately, despite all the tests run by Xfinity, and despite the fact that we had a brand new Router/Gateway, the Router/Gateway itself was causing the network to loop -- a problem that had gone 100% undetected, with every other thing done.Since this Switch has Loop Detection Build right in...you'll know right away if you have any loops! You can test it yourself by taking a patchcord and plugging it simultanoeusly into two ports (it won't hurt anything). You'll see both ports flash amber when this is done. Our former switch lacked this feature, which means we were flying blind.Whoever said that Cisco won't answer any questions, musn't have called them. Not only did they answer questions, but they remote logged in via Webex (with my permission), ran a Packet Sniffer and anayzed the situation. They were intent on SOLVING it, not just closing a ticket. Cisco was fabulous. A little "Corporate" feeling, in that you have to make a support profile and then do a few steps, but when they do get it assigned to an Engineer, they don't mess around.I give this affordable, unmanaged switch 5 stars and Lorenzo at Cisco 10.One tip, the device does not come with a Legend to let you know what the LED's mean on the front:Here's whay they gave me:Flashing Amber means there is a loop (BAD!)Solid Amber is means traffic is moving below 1 G (Good, but will show when you have devices that are not Gigabit, but are instead Fast Ethernet or the like.)Flashing Green is data is moving (Flashes quickly!)Solid Green is data link -- meaning there is a cable connected. If you have Gigabit Devices they should be SOLID Green and FLASHING Green (Left and Right LED's per port)All my Gigabit devices Auto-Detected, unlike one other review as did my Fast Ethernet devices. I did not have to do anything on any of my devices. Setup was fast and simple, but LOOP detection is essential to me now!!You'll love this switch!

Didn't realize that it was an older item
Bought this at @$75, not realizing that it was a discontinued older item. It is missing a number of more modern features, but aligns with our needs-- we use it to power a POE camera and connect 6 other devices at a remote rental home.Obviously a managed switch would be better as it would allow us to power cycle specific ports or diagnose some issues remotely, however we have another device that can remotely power cycle the entire switch/modem/router.This switch has is well built and has worked without any issues for the past six months, it doesn't get hot even when all ports are in use and one is powering a POE camera several hundred feet away. It's not feature packed, but is reliable.

A must have for giga fiber optic internet.
Cisco products always delivered!!! I bought this to replace my Dlink 16 ports gigabit switch, recently I upgrade my home internet to fiber optic and have 1gb up/down services, the Dlink isn't bad but it's unstable to provide gigabit speed, when it's hot it dropped to 80+mbps then need to reboot the switch, it works for a few days then it dropped back to 80+ mbps. This one works right out the box and it is constantly stable provide the max performance, at this moment I am writing this review it still stable as day one I installed it, see attached screenshot. I highly recommend this unit...I wish it's cheaper but it's worth it!

Slightly pricey, but well worth it if you need stability
I wish it was a little cheaper, but well worth it for the stability. Up until about 5 years ago, I always used the less expensive but still name brand options like netgear and linksys, but started to get fed up with needing to power cycle the switches once every 2 or 3 months to clear up weird network flakiness in our medium-large home network of about 80 devices. I first switched to SG200 series switches which I can attest to being rock solid for 18+ months at a time. The cisco 110 series is newer for us, only about 12 months in since deploying our first, but so far it is also rock solid and at a lower price point than the SG200 series.

Auto Negotiate Fail
The switch is great! My only complaint is that it tries to auto negotiate down to 100MBps vs. granting me full 1GBps on the port I'm connected to. How do I know? Well, I've got 1GB download speeds at home and the port wouldn't allow me to exceed 100MBps. I had to force my PC's NIC to 1GB instead of auto negotiate and that resolved my issue. I wish there was an easy way to log into this switch to get rid of this dumb port speed auto negotiation.

Cisco Switch...Need I say more?
I always use Cisco at work due to its reliability, functionality and durability. I decided to use this one for home networking and has proven to have the same assets as the more expensive Cisco hardware. Great product at a great price. Very fast delivery. Switch came with rack mount ears if you want to mount the switch and rubber feet if you want it on the desktop. Definitely worth buying!

This is a good product - they do NOT support it.
Cisco makes great switches, but just like Netgear, they don't answer ANY questions. Don't look for technical support if you are not sure of what you want. Don't get me wrong - these work great, and they are pretty much plug and play. It is, however, a good thing, as Cisco doesn't offer support. They REFUSE to answer even a simple question if you get them on the line.

This switch does not play nice with an Eero Pro 6e network
Not sure why, but ever since I got my Eero Pro 6e network setup, this switch will periodically interfere with the network. I have to unplug the switch, have the network auto-heal itself and then plug the switch back in. This happens every 4-6 weeks, which, while not super inconvenient, it is annoying.
