It works great
I love this mixing valve. I have been using them for years in many installations. Turn your water heater back up to 140 and set the mixing valve to about 110. You now have more hot water because it’s pre-mixed which means less waste. When you take your shower you just turn on the hot and it’s a wonderful thing. I’ve also heard that higher temperatures in your water heater can kill bacteria in your tank that lower temperatures can’t. Please do your own research.Again we love the ease of installation and the ease of use. Please NOTE you must must must deburr the ends of all the pipe (Pex, copper or cpvc) because the o ring can be Damaged if the edge is sharp. Sharkbite makes a good tool that does this for about $12 and it has a depth gauge to insure the correct insertion depth info the sharkbite push to connect fittings.

Very easy to install. Great solution for water that is too hot.
I was able to install this myself, a non-plumber DIY type, thanks to the shark bite connections. My hot water was too hot, because I keep the temperature as high as possible to make up for my small tank size. This enabled me to reduce the maximum temperature that would be sent downstream, allowing me to keep the benefits of the high boiler temperature without increasing burn risk downstream

Works great
I had problems with keeping hot water for all the baths and laundry. The water heat we have was able to make it plenty hot but just didn't have the volume. After installing the valve setting it to a good temperature we had better pressure and hot water for all. The garden tub still was filling and had plenty of hot water for a shower. We may need tankless later on but this was a great fix and safer for the kids.Thanks.

Good for overshooting water heater
I have been using sharkbites for years, and the only time they’ve failed me is when I failed to push them together all the way! This valve works really well. It mixes the water so it is the perfect temperature. I bought a nice fast-recovery water heater, and the unit has a huge deadband (turns on when water is 10 degrees below setpoint and off when water is 10 degrees above) so I needed someway to control it. It steps 160 degree water down to 120 without ever feeling the heat! The reason I knocked off one star is that they claim these are factory-calibrated, but there is no way! The valve out of the box was turned all the way up and barely making 105 degree water. Luckily they make the range adjustable, just make sure you have someone reading the temperature of the water while you turn the valve. We were able to get it to 120 exact, and it’s holding there now!

Hot water exchange valve
The technician had to figure out how to fix it . Basically it was his lack of due diligence that he secured it in a way that it did not work . The valve works exceptionally well and I am happy !

Perfect!
The mixing valve I received had shark bite fittings on all 3 sides. I was hesitant to order due to the negative reviews saying they received the wrong item, but it seems the company has worked out the issue. It was easy to install and works great. I have a small tabletop water heater that is less than 40 gallons (38 maybe?) and it isn’t quite enough for the household. Now I can set the water heater to it’s max temperature of 150 degrees, which will extend our hot water by about 30%, but don’t have to worry about anyone getting scalded. An added bonus to keeping a higher temp is we no longer have a sulfur smell from the well water, as the bacteria can’t survive.

Terrible water pressure
Water pressure was reduced by half, I turned the knob all the way hot and all the way cold, and no difference in pressure. Once I took this mixing valve out (and just put in a T with ball valves to regulate the temp) the pressure came back and was perfect.

Ships and works as expected
To be clear this is the Cash Acme Heatguard HG110 D with SharkBite connections. Outlet temperature is has a range of 85 – 130°F (29 – 54°C). The device is set and locked to a maximum of 120°F (49°C) but is able to be operated at 130°F/54°C by removing the locking ring and adjusting to the higher setting. Locking ring removal is accomplished by unscrewing the screw on the temperature knob, removing the knob, and then removing the silver locking ring.Flow rate has a minimum of 1 gpm (3.8 l/min) and maximum of 20 gpm (76 l/min).The unit received has worked flawlessly and had all three SharkBite connectors attached. Works as expected and we've had no issues in the first two weeks of operation.
