Hydor Pico Evo-Mag 180 Circulation Pump with Magnet Mount, 180 GPH

Perfect for what I needed it for; fits snugly in the back chamber of my Fluval Spec V. It's a little noisy, but I believe it's due to how right the fit is. I love it.

I purchased this circulation pump to place at the bottom of my aquarium to create a circulation that moves all debris toward the filter intake. It worked perfectly but the pump itself is plastic and a little fragile. It has a magnetic mount that connects through the glass but the clip that holds the pump to the mount is very thin plastic and you have to be very careful attaching. If you get past that step without breaking the mount you will have no problems with the pump function. It has a nice dial to control the flow rate. You can also spin the nozzle to control the flow direction. Very versatile for an inexpensive pump.

I purchased one of these to make a small current in my 20 gallon planted freshwater tank so that the surface would remain clear. It has been working for 5 years until a huge Power Surge from the power company (3 times in one day) knocked it out- so I purchased another one because this one worked so well. It's made for smaller tanks but it works perfectly for what I am doing and has adjustable strength. It is held on magnetically which is a plus. I also have nerite snails & cherry shrimp in the tank and they like to get inside of things that can kill them so I just rubber band a small piece of netting over the intake and they do fine that way.

I wish I had done more research before I bought this. I liked the higher gph pumps therefore I assumed the quality would trickle down the lineup. Very poor assumption on my part, lesson learned, always read the positive AND negative reviews!1) Biggest problem is that it's NOISY. No matter what I tried it's super noise especially when limiting the amount of intake (poor engineering).2) No option to attach a filter to the intake, which is extremely strong. If you have small fry or shrimp, say good-bye to them as they will easily get sucked up and mangled!3) Clip holder is a poor design as well, I can see my pump falling from it after taking it in and out.

I use this mini pump in my 3 gallon saltwater nano to really help move the water around, and prevent stagnant areas. I would say that it is "ok" for my needs, but leaves a bit to be desired. I choose this one because I have used Hydor pumps in the past and I have been very happy with them. In addition, it was one of the smallest, highest quality products that I can find.Pros:1. Easy to adjust flow2. Compact size for pico tanks3. Well builtCons:1. Can be loud at times - I'm not sure if this is just the particular pump that I own, but it does go through loud humming periods. Then after a while it seems to even out and not be so loud. But, I would say it is loud more often then not. It is not so bad that I would take it out of my tank, but it is loud enough that I do notice it at times. This is not a complete deal breaker, but is the main reason that I gave it 3 stars rather than 4 or 5.All in all, I would buy this pump again, mainly because this is currently the best option that I have found for my 3 gallon pico. I would prefer a quieter pump, but realize that flow may be decreased and then the pump would no longer fit my needs. It is a trade off that I'm willing to make.

Great pump for tanks from 3-20gallons. Yes the bracket is complete garbage but a couple black zip ties and you won’t ever know it. The trade off is a small compact pump that does exactly what you need and is adjustable! I use in my 3.3 gal picco on the lowest setting and on my fluval evo I paired it with the hydor rotating deflector on full power and it is really creates a nice random wave pattern in my tank and it doesn’t heat up the water in any of my tanks. The little magnets seem to do a great job holding it in place.

i had to superglue the bracket to the pump because it kept slipping off. the ability to rotate the nozzle is great, but it's very difficult to move that dial while the pump is in the tank. so you have to take it out to turn it, and then you've lost the other positioning you had. when i first ran this pump it was quiet; 6 months later it has an annoying rattle that i can't get rid of even after cleaning and re-cleaning, lubricating the impeller shaft, etc. also, i am really picky about concealing my equipment. the back of my tank is black, and the red elements of the pump really stand out. it's not the worst pump ever, but i wouldn't buy another one. the rattle is driving me batty.

This is a great addition to my 6gal reef tank. Creates just enough flow to keep everything happy and is fully adjustable with flow rate and direction with swivel head. Some have complained about a rattle. I had this problem for a moment. If you use the suction cup without the magnet, you may get a rattle from the loose magnet in the suction cup element. I'm not currently having the rattle issue. Also others have mentioned the weak plastic mount. In my case the mount is great. It allows for easy removal to adjust flow and head position and goes easily back in place. I really like this pump.

Adjustable output. Quiet. Secure. Reasonable price.Bought to add more circulation in my planted 65gal community tank.The construction on support is a bit flimsy as other reviews note, so easy adjusting and placing. But no issues to date, moved 3 times and been running for months now so can live it.

Excellent product - flow is adjustable. I have them in 17 gallon tanks with male bettas and it’s nice to have just the right amount of flow.

todo perfecto, solo que la base o el clip que lo agarra no esta del todo bien diseñado, recomiendo pegar con un poco de cianoacrilato
