This is nice not having to use the thumbscrew. This unit has magnets that keeps the ruler square and makes it easy to adjust. I would buy again. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because it came with a little marker (pointed piece of metal) but that part had come loose in the packaging and bent.

You know, it's hard to reinvent the mouse trap, but this magnetic combo square has. Easy to relocate, easy to remove and use as a ruler or straight edge, and a no hassle reattachment.It does stay in place, however you don't want to be too rough with it or the setting will move. But, for what I do it's perfect.

This combo square is alright. I had to knock down all the edges that were machine sharp when received.The magnets do hold the ruler in place but there is no "lock". If you are doing a quick transfer of measurement it is great but since it does not truly lock it can easily be knocked out of original setting. It is more square than my 20 year old Craftsman, but that thing has been dropped more times than I can count. Overall it is easy to use and I will use it for quick measurements and checking square but not for transferring measurements.

I bought this on the pitch that a magnetic lock feature would make adjusting easy. However, when using this square the magnet was not strong enough to keep it on the mark. Even just a slight bump it would go out of alignment. so you had to keep resetting. It is nicely crafted, looks great and is accurate, but this fatal flaw makes it frustrating to use. I ended up returning it and bought a PEC square, which is made in America and is beautiful.

it's a good tool and specialy handy when I have to scribe timber treads or risers etc. The other squares are just as good / Stanly or Empire / but when I pull the ruller out from the square to flatten the tool on the material it takes time to put it back. What I could improve on it to use mm-s instead inches as the world has changed to the SI for decades now. So I just simple replaiced the ruller with a Stanly one which is the same size but it cost me an extra $20.

So bad.

I saw a video in which this was promoted and thought I'd give it a try. It is OK but kind of have to get used to the fact that the rule is not real firmly attached. The plus is that it is very easy to reposition, doesn't get hung up and is easy to replace when you want to take the rule out for some purpose. Just have to remember that it won't stay together under pressure. I actually use it a lot and am generally happy with it.

This combination square is so easy to use. It is held in place with a strong magnet so you don't have to tighten a set screw to hold it in place while measuring. This saves a lot of time if you do very much measuring as I do.

Good square....would not recommend it for job site use, one little bump and it falls apart
