But beware of FAKES
I have over a dozen SanDisk CF/SD cards of varying sizes. They are the most reliable SD cards I have used.Recently I bought 2 1GB SanDisk cards from "1OnlyNewStuff" in the Amazon marketplace. When I got them I tried them out immediately and they read/wrote OK.However, when putting one back in the camera something just did not look quite right about it. Comparing my two new "SanDisk" cards to any of my old ones showed that the new cards had no serial numbers, had slightly different physical profiles, and sort of blotchy printing.Checking on the internet I found that SanDisk counterfeits have long been known on E-Bay. Now they have been brought to Amazon. There is a page at [...] which shows some of the characteristics of the fake cards.I checked with SanDisk, provided them with photos of the two new disks and SanDisk confirms them as fakes. The SanDisk pictured on this Amazon Page is real (note the notch on the bottom of the media - lacking on most fakes). Likely media ordered directly from Amazon is going to be OK.However if you are tempted, as was I, by the lower price from some Amazon merchants when you get the cards inspect them to see if they are real or counterfeit.SanDisk very promptly will help you with this. For example, if the media has a serial number SanDisk can confirm if it is valid. If it has NO SERIAL NUMBER, then don't bother SanDisk - because ALL actual SanDisks have serial numbers (and a lifetime guarantee)

Reliable memory, excellent speed
I bought this card nearly two years ago, and have never been disappointed with it. The one issue I had was after wiping it clean, there was about 160MB of storage space that appeared on the card to be full. I defragmented the card (available in properties), and saw all kinds of files being moved on the card. They were from another camera in which I'd tested the card to show it's speed, and oddly enough they didn't disappear when I deleted them (I wish I remembered the make and model of that camera). I formatted the card, and all the space came back. (Be certain that you have everything you need off your card before you format it!)It's been to eastern Europe and back, and it has never missed a beat. Even when it had a portion that was inaccessible, the remainder of the memory worked no problem. I'm very happy with this card, which I originally purchased for my Panasonic DMC-FZ7 digital camera. I have not been disappointed!

1GB SD, use the extra space anywhere
Most modern computers, both laptops and towers, come with a drive that supports multiple types of digital media cards (including Seure Digital). This makes the intergrating process of Secure Digital cards and your computing needs a breeze. This particular 1gig card has taken a vital role in my computing needs. I use it to store serveral types of things.1.) Drivers - this card replaced all the cds i used to have to carry around with all of my computer's drivers.2.) Incremental Backups - because its re-writable its easy to make incremental backups of my homework, forms, records, etc. No more "one time use cds" for this task. I should also note that these cards have a built in "write protection" feature on the side, which prevents accidental modtification of its contents when switched on.3.) Depending on how your digital camera treats the storage card, you should be able to use the remaining space for recording pictures taken or short video clips. If you're purchasing this card specifically for a digital camera, I can't even imagine how many pictures using 4MP camera would fit in it.The only shortcoming I have experienced with this card is its slow transfer rate for small files stored in huge quantities. For example, I had a folder holding serveral hundred icons, each about 50kb....thats a lot of files using up very little space each. For these type of files, its best to compress them into an archieve (zip or rar to name a couple of formats) on the PC before sending to the SD card.Despite this, the card is a 5 star purchase.

Satisfied with product
They were equick to deliver my order of 2 SD memory cards for my camera and the price sounded good - $12. But the shipping charges are outrageous. They charge $6 for EACH card shipped together in the same tiny box.

Good performance - limited use
My use of this SD card is limited at this time. Its primary purpose is for data sharing (I use it with a compact Lexar USB card reader). For the few times I have needed to copy files, it performs well. My secondary use will be with my digital camera. However, I have not tested it there yet. My goal was to get a higher throughput card to speed up the copy times for larger shared files on my laptop and also speed up the transfer time for images captured from my digital camera. The file xfer speeds are much improved from my older SanDisk SD card.

Your Pictures Are Worth A Name-Brand Card
I have always had great luck with SanDisk products, and this is no exception. I probably should have gone with a larger capacity card, but the price was too good to pass up. These SanDisk Ultra II cards also download extremely fast.Since all flash-type memory has a finite lifespan of read/write cycles (somewhere around 100,000), it is worth it to spend the money on a quality card. When you write data (like photos) to a low-end card, it fills up like a glass of water - from one end to the other and erases it in much the same way, constantly writing to the same portion of the card first. Higher-end cards randomize where they write the data to, thus spreading the read/write cycles over the entire card and lengthening its usable life.(The SanDisk 'Ultra' II is a model, while 'Ultra' is a low end manufacturer.)
