great addition to my diamancel collection
I have that bad habit of picking at the ends of my fingers - you know that tough skin that forms there.... Well, apparently it forms there because we are picking at it. This smooths out that skin, so you don't have anything to mess with. Like all of the Diamancel products that I have, this is a great product. They seriously last forever. I have a cat that chewed on my original #1 file, but it's still as good as new (the coating on the back is dinged up, but the file is a-ok).If you like giving yourself manicures - add this to your collection, too....

Dissapointingly flimsy plastic, needs to be used with care or else will snap in two
Every winter I get to a stage where sliding my hand along a satin fabric will cause snags from all the rough skin on my fingertips. So I was desperate for a solution. I recently bought the Diamancel #11 foot file and was really pleased with the sturdiness and quality. I am sure the exorbitant price is justified, because that thing looks like it will last forever. This file, however, I don't get. It looks like metal but it's just plastic, and very thin plastic. The filing surface shimmers and does look like it is made of crushed diamonds, and it certainly very effectively and gently smooths out rough skin. So in terms of performance I have no complaints whatsoever. My issue is that I just don't see this lasting long. If I'm in a hurry and try to file fast I might snap this file in two. For the money, this should be made of metal, thin flexible metal, not thin flexible and breakable plastic.Bottom line: I'm keeping it because it does the job and I need it. But I expected better of Diamancel.

Almost great
Others have complained about the thin, flexible non-metallic base material. In my opinion it is a cost effective and entirely appropriate choice. Like most anything, you can break these things. The solution: don't do that.My one reservation is that the abrasive is too fine. On first use, my sample quickly tore through thick, long neglected callouses. But as is typical with bonded abrasive grit, the more aggressive particles soon broke off, leaving the tool barely more effective than a standard nail file. A coarser grit and possibly a more robust bonding method would retain an acceptable degree of aggressiveness through normal use.

Don't bother... cheap thin plastic handle.
The photos of this product are extremely misleading. It makes it seem like the body/handle is made out of metal; and that it's robust. It appears thin in the product photo, but I was shocked to find out it's cheap, thin plastic! This shouldn't be worth 25 dollars!!I am sure it will do the job fine (the sanding part that is), but I don't expect this to last long (not to mention, it's not a very ergonomic and comfortable handle). I am still shocked at how cheap it is. This is the most disappointed I've been at a product that I've ever ordered online!

LOVE IT!
I use my hands a lot and this is really perfect for keeping them smooth. Love it! There is a huge difference between Diamancel products and any other files i have used. Worth every penny:)

Love this product
This is my second purchase of this item. I have had the first one for many, many years and had misplaced it so thought I would order a duplicate. Love it, it smooths the skin around your fingers or toes so easily.

Very Good Product.
Files very well, including nails. Easily rinses clean. Doesn't seem to wear. I think it will last a long time.
